My suggestion is to find an AKC breeder if you're specifically looking for an uncommon rescue breed. If you look at one off pet shops be weary of puppy mill puppies. Not all pet shops do this, but it exists. Do your research! Weekends usually have rescues at Petsmart. They're the sweetest dogs you can ever have.
They usually have one or two pet shelters there on Saturdays.
