Ends up costing a lot! They use third party people to unload. The crew was polite but not very experienced. The unload was very uncoordinated. The lead guy took his work seriously but the other two were not professional unloaders. I think the unload time could have been shortened by half an hour and I didn’t realize that I would be charged for 30 minutes of travel time. Watch out about the tipping!!!

The saga began with me assisting them with their billing/estimate software email not rendering properly within any of my email clients. I worked with Tim Johnson, listed as the Move Coordinator, over the course of several emails to correct the display issue. I was sent an estimate of $3321.00, plus I paid a deposit of $189.00. Over the next couple of days, when trying to call back to ask questions about the upcoming move, Mr. Johnson's number would hang up immediately without even ringing. After more than a little persistence, I was able to get through, though it became clear that he did not want to speak with me. I was instructed to expect the movers between 7 am and 8 am on the morning of the move. I informed them that I had to be on the road by 10:30 am that morning en route to the destination so that I could be present for scheduled service hookups just prior to the July 4th holiday. After they had not arrived and I had heard nothing at 8 am, I began attempting to reach Mr. Johnson. True to form, when I dialed his number it disconnected immediately as before. I never successfully reached Mr. Johnson that morning. I reached out to another reputable mover who quoted me a cheaper price and assured me that everything would be completed in one day, but I would have to wait until the next day. At about the same time, I was contacted by someone from 1st Coast Movers who was driving a moving truck. He informed me that they had had someone call in sick and they had trouble obtaining a replacement. However, he assured me that I "...would be taken care of" and that he expected to arrive by 10:00 am. In the end, when we left at nearly 11:00 am, we passed him pulling into the neighborhood and I was never able to speak face-to-face. While en route to the new house, I was informed by the driver that they would need to spend the night after making the drive. I was sent images of how well they took care of everything and wrapped it in a type of green cellophane. The next day, they met us at Lowe's at about noon to pick up some appliances to take to the house. They then took a "quick lunch" and showed up at the house late afternoon around approximately 3:30 pm. When they opened the back door of the truck after their arrival at the house, I was greeted by a sea of green reminiscent of the "egg room" in the Aliens movie. Clearly they had gone well overboard in their packing efforts. During the course of unpacking, the two movers got into a vehement argument about their procedure for exactly when things should be unwrapped and where the refuse should be stacked. At this point I was becoming very disconcerted and reached out to get a final price for this fiasco as soon as possible. In response to my request, Mr. Johnson started messaging me about them being a 5-star company and how well they packed everything to ensure that there was no damage. I was also told that he had reduced the number of men to two to provide me a reduced rate. It was evident to me that my cost was going to exceed my initial estimate. Shortly thereafter, I received an invoice for nearly $8,800. So I jumped in and began to quickly carry things in and unwrap things. After a bit, I called Mr. Johnson and expressed my extreme dissatisfaction and reprimanded him for not informing me about how far my quote had been exceeded with no warning whatsoever that this was going to happen. The drivers overheard my discussion and one of them was clearly unhappy with my actions and asked me if I "...had a problem with the service". I told him that I did and that I was working on it. This particular mover spent the vast majority of the remaining time sitting in the truck. The remaining mover remained polite and courteous and was as helpful as possible, even after injuring himself with a box cutter. In the end, the placement of our belongings was largely incorrect, there was red clay all over the new carpet, the refrigerator had only been plugged in with no assistance to connect the water, and the washer and dryer were not hooked up. I am exploring further recourse.
