Our IPEMA Certified Engineered Wood Fiber (Tot Lot Chips) can create the ideal foundation for any play place! Tot Lot Chips are comprised of recently collected North American Hardwood materials such as Oak, Maple, Hickory, Ash, Birch, Poplar, Beech and Locust. There are no additives or chemical treatments present in the materials. The entire wood product is free of soil and other contaminants that promote faster decomposition. Playground Wood chips are random in size, approximately 5 times longer than they are wide. Playground Wood Chips meet the particle size requirements of ASTM 2075, the heavy metal and tramp metal ASTM 2075 requirements, the ASTM 1292 impact attenuation guidelines and the resistance to flammability requirements 1630/1631.

Naturally-occurring Virginia Loamy-plained screened topsoil is processed through a 3/8″ screen. All Topsoil is native to Virginia, contains sand, silt, and clay, and is finely screened through a 3/8″-1/2” screen. The screening will eliminate most large materials such as rocks, sticks, and large clumps of grass. Due to rain and humidity, topsoil may generate clumps even after the screening, which will break apart once it is spread out.

Bulk topsoil is native to the area. It’s derived from excavation sites from local neighboring areas surrounding Washington DC. At JK Enterprise we screen our soil after it is sourced. The screening process will eliminate most large materials such as rocks, sticks and large clumps of grass. From there it is stored at one of our outdoor facilities in large piles awaiting delivery. As it sits in these piles, the moisture caused by natural elements may make clumps (even after it’s screened). These clumps can easily be broken apart with a shovel or rake. Bagged topsoil is somewhat manufactured.

It is almost inevitable that there will be some kind of precipitation event when you are ready for your order. It never fails. We deliver rain or shine and it does not hurt our products.

This is very risky, and can cause severe damage to your property. If the ground is soft, the truck may get stuck, causing damage to personal property. The sides of an asphalt driveway can be crushed, when leaving the safety of a paved surface. The professional driver will make this judgement call at the time of delivery. In general, it is safer for everyone to have the trucks delivering on pavement.

Our drivers are instructed to keep in communication, and call with an estimated time of arrival. This is why we ask for a couple of phone numbers.

No, you can leave written instructions on the front door, and or written notes on the delivery page. You can mark the area with chalk, “X” in duct tape, tarp, cone or upside down trash can with a sign on it. This gives the driver a visual and will make the delivery process easier. Our drivers are instructed to go to the front door in absence of delivery notes
