5 stars all the way!!! There's a reason why they've been in business so long!

I had a wonderful experience here. I am from out-of-town. The staff spent a lot time, even when they were relatively busy, providing me with lots of information on local mountain biking trails.

Love this bike shop! They’re always so helpful & seem to get things done quickly & well, even during the craziness of the pandemic. I’ve been looking for a gravel bike for the past 3 years and really wanted to buy local rather than online, but hadn’t found one that met my preferences & my budget - until I went to Fat Tire. They really listened to what I was looking for & what was reasonable for me, and I came home with a beautiful Liv bike that I took on a 67-mile ride yesterday & felt like I was coasting up hills & totally solid on both road & gravel/sand. Really happy with the bike & the service, & will definitely continue to support this great community-oriented bike shop!

No, thank you. We do not buy used bikes. Outdoor ReGear and Play It Again Sports might be able to help you out. :) Have a nice day!
Most definitely, they love e bikes over there.
We are currently requiring all staff and customers to wear a mask at all times. We have hand sanitizers available and frequently sanitize counters and frequently touched devices.Spacing decals are located on the floor to keep customers spaced apart. Fat Tire Cycles has a large square footage space so it is not very often that customers have to wait outside because of capacity limits imposed by the NM Governor.
As a general rule we do not buy used parts. We do sell take off parts that have been upgraded by the owner. Also we do take bike donations to Esperanza, a city owned bike store that fixes up old bikes and gives them to kids and people in need. It's a great place for donations if you have unwanted bikes or bike parts!
Hello Brittany, we do not buy bike parts or used bikes. We would suggest using Craigslist, Outdoor Re-Gear or a Pawn shop. We do however work on any bike used or new no matter what brand. Thank you for your inquiry. Erik (manager)
Hello Jaime, yes we do have beach cruisers with 26" wheels or 24" wheels. We also have many other comfort or cruiser style bikes starting in $199 range and up. Come on down and see us, we would love to help you find the right bike. Erik (manager)
Hello Joan, we are a Tannus dealer and currently have a good stock of Tannus Armour. Call ahead to make sure that we have your tire size in stock. Thanks for the inquiry. Erik (manager)
Right now we have a Serfas 2-bike rack in stock that is trunk mounted for $150.
Generally we do not take in trades. Did you buy the bike from Fat Tire? If so please call Erik or Gabe (345-9005). They would be interested in discovering what the problem could be and how we could help - if it is a matter of fit or size? We want our customers to have a great biking experience.
I recommend calling them directly.
Yes we do have Saris racks in stock . 2 bike rack for $179 plus tax. We are open 10-4 PM today & Saturday.
We sell "TR" tubes that are Thorn Resistant (much thicker) with slime sealant in them. That can usually get kids thru a season, but you have to pump the tires up once in awhile to get the slime to seal all the holes. The other option that we don't recommend is solid rubber tubes, which are super heavy and almost impossible to install or remove.

$52 for 2 mt bike tires
Most brands make a cost effective "price point" BMX. Check Subrosa, Fit, Free Agent. Just ask the sales person for the cheapest bike.
Fat Tire Cycles sells electric bicycles starting at $999 to $6000. Average price is around $2000.
