Lake Mac is our go to vacay spot for the 4th of July! Great people and a blast with boats and jetskis!

Probably one of the few lakes in Nebraska or surrounding area with nice beaches. Definitely worth going to whether you have a boat or not.

The lake itself is great. The main issue I had there were the extremely invasive and swarming flies. They'll bite you too. It had been some years since I had been here, and I'm not sure what happened but the flies are sooooooooo bad. I don't think there's a description I could give that would even prepare anyone for how bad they are. I hope maybe somehow this can be addressed because they made a beautiful trip pretty unbearable. Once night comes though, then it's really beautiful. I love how much space there is to camp undisturbed by other people. You can have a fire which is great. There are bathrooms available. There are supposed to be showers but they require tokens. The main issue with that was the machine to purchase those tokens was broken. Still nice to have running water in the sinks though.

What an amazing place to visit. Sugar sand beaches they allow you to camp. You drive right down the beach, and camp for the week or stay a few hours. The water was beautiful to swim in when we were there. You can walk right in with its gradual slope in.

You just have to show up and pick, this year the water is pretty high so get in quick! You won't regret it, best place on earth.
When does it end? Its always camping season.
Yes. Go see the man that rents boats and he can help you.
Along the north side
Yes it is
Honestly first come first serve there's a lot of spots... u can camp right by the beach area or by the trees... its just really sandy and u will need a good 4x4.. we stay on the firs entrance right after u cross the big bridge take a left... good luck
It's in place to maintain the family-friendly atmosphere that exists.
If you are not reserving a spot, there is an honor post in each grounds for lot payment. But, either way there is no time set. Just be courteous of other campers and not be noisy after 10
It's going to be packed so first come better spots but no unless u want to be able to pick where u want and you can but not that weekend they r full u would have to wait til after weekend
CedarView is all booked up, I know this because I literally got the last spot available at Cedar View for the weekend of the 4th. Looks like the Beach is first come first serve and is open. When we were there 2 weeks ago the water was pretty high so the beach camping was pretty limited.
No.
Most likely. Make your reservations early due to the high demand during the summer.
Some spots at some of f the campgrounds have full hookups. None of the beach camping does. It's open camping wherever you can fit it get to.
Try Air BnB as well. Privately owned cabins are booked out pretty far in advance.
Yes there is
You will need a park sticker, depending on how much you go to Lake Mac. You can get an annual one or just get one based on how mang days you'll be here. You can get that at almost any gas stations here. Then out at the lake there are spots posted where you then pay for it. Go to ilovelakemac.com
There are some places to eat by the lake. There are Sands Edge, Admirals Cove and Hill Top Inn. There are also a couple of service stations that sell food and supplies as well. Or you can stop at Walmart on your way to the lake.
Surface water temperature today was 80F. Will be a very nice in August.
