Divorce rates are significantly higher in the southern part of the country, including Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, the Virginias and the Carolinas. Reasons include marriages occurring at an earlier age, fewer individuals pursuing higher education, and many more. New York, on the other hand, is located in the Northeast where divorce rates are the lowest. However, the decision to have a professional investigate your suspicions should never be based solely on this fact. That is one of the most important questions that we ask our clients. For this purpose, we have recently surveyed 500 individuals between the ages of 18 and over 65 across all four corners of the United States. We have received surprising results. Out of the total respondents, 50.5% were female and 49.5% were male. The general consensus was “Disagree” for the majority of both female (33.7%) and male (31.1%) responders, closely followed by “Unsure”. The highest response rate by far is attributed to people aged 25-34 (24.9%), followed by people aged 45-54 (19.7%). In addition, individuals from the South make up the bulk of total responders (30.2%), followed by those from the Midwest (27.6%), West (27.2%) and Northeast (14.9%).
