Excellent first visit

I love Dr. Wools approach to health. He explains that gut health is a big part of overall health, which I totally believe in. Our first appointment he spent around an hour with me and went over all my labs results. I was impressed at how detailed he was and his recommendations. I highly recommend Dr Wool to all my friends and family.

All I can say is that he is an amazing Dr. In all my life I have not had a doctor who will sit with you the entire hour and listen to your issues. On top of that his vast knowledge of nutrition and naturalpathic medicine has helped me reach my goals. I recommend him to all my friends!

Dr Wool is always terrific. Great advice and super helpful.

Yes. We take walk-in patients when there is room on the schedule. Always call the clinic first. NOTE: we are not equipped to handle emergencies or trauma – call 9-1-1 or go to the ER/hospital or Urgent Care.
I do not see cancer patients, though I have a colleague on-site (Dr. Jake Psenka) who does and he has a great track record. I don't do pediatrics – i.e. treat children or young adults under 21. However, we have an excellent nurse practitioner at the clinic who sees this population. Our new patient coordinator can help to get you established with either practitioner.
Yes. As a licensed NMD in Arizona, I can prescribe medications. This is often a surprise to people; naturopathic doctors have a reputation for being more gentle and holistic. While this often can be just as effective, I'll always prescribe medications when it's warranted.
Medicare may cover some routine lab tests, but not doctor visits.
We get asked this a lot. There are many similarities and differences. Traditional MDs spend much more time in residency and internships than naturopathic physicians, often for surgical or speciality training. Naturopathic doctors (NDs/NMDs) also attend four years of medical school. NDs are almost exclusively clinicians. NDs are not licensed to do internal medicine or surgery. NDs can prescribe most medications under their license in Arizona. NDs generally focus on wellness and prevention. We tend to manage chronic cases. We operate on principles such as treating the whole person, getting to the root cause of illness and guiding treatments that work with the body’s innate ability to heal itself. In addition to clinical medicine, NDs are trained in "alternative" modalities such as nutrition, botanical medicine and acupuncture to help facilitate healing. Our patients say that they appreciate that we have more time to listen and get to know them.
Yes. I offer appointments online via Zoom and on the phone. While these are popular options for follow-ups, I recommend establishing care in person, so you can be medically examined and proper consent forms can be signed.
Yes. When you call to make your first appointment, our new patient coordinator will walk you through the steps to get established with the clinic. You will be required to fill out all paperwork, including an online intake questionairre prior to your first visit. Failure to do so in a timely manner risks not being seen by the doctor.
An initial appointment is 90 minutes. A follow-up appointment is typically 30-60 minutes.
An initial appointment costs $395. Follow-up appointments cost $175. Brief appointments cost $125. Acute (sick) visits start at $95.
Yes. The clinic does accept most Health Savings Accounts (HSA) if this is an option for you.
No. Health insurance does not cover naturopathic doctor visits. You should expect all services in our clinic to be “cash pay”. That said, insurance DOES cover some of the routine lab tests we order for patients; our staff can review this with you. Also, some insurance companies allow reimbursement for naturopathic doctor visits to go against your annual deductible or out-of-pocket costs - but check with your provider. If allowed, our team can provide a specially coded superbill for you to submit.
Yes. There is a wheelchair-accessible elevator on the ground floor (in front of the veterinary clinic) that opens directly in front of the Chambers Clinic entrance on the 2nd floor.
There are four designated sites for Chambers Clinic on the ground level in front of the clinic. Disabled parking is available in that same row. If these spaces are full, there is usually ample parking around the shopping center.
I am located in Chambers Clinic. We are on the Northeast side of Grayhawk Plaza on the 2nd Floor. From the Scottsdale Rd. driveways, we're across from (east of) Chipotle. From the Grayhawk Rd. driveway, we are 50 yards south of Parma Italian Roots restaurant above the Veterinary clinic and before Honor Health.
Currently I am available at this location on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-5pm and on Fridays from 9am-2pm. (I work in our Tempe clinic Wednesdays 9am-5pm). I am also available at this location on Saturdays (9am-1pm) and before/after hours by appointment.
Our North Scottsdale clinic is located in the Grayhawk neighborhood. Surrounding neighborhoods include Cave Creek, Carefree, Desert Mountain, Troon, Troon North, DC Ranch, McDowell Mountain Ranch, Desert Ridge and Rio Verde. That said, I see patients from all over Greater Phoenix and the Valley.
