We are planning to purchase our own home in the next several years. We are committed in planning financially very early as we knows costs of land and housing fluctuate. We wanted to see some of these homes we had been eyeing online, so we went today to the housing lot. Pete met us at the door and guided us to a room to discuss things. When we made it clear why we were there, he basically told us it was pointless to be looking this early in the game. We mentioned a few homes we liked and asked a few questions. However, Pete would not answer them. We (my husband and I) are planners and want all our ducks in a row when we purchase our first home. We feel and felt today we made the right decision in visiting Clayton Homes. However, Pete made us feel like we shouldn’t be excited about our not so far future and wouldn’t give us any information to the questions we had. We left upset and discouraged. We did go look at the homes they had on the lot that we felt we may like down the road. We know different models and so forth will change in time, but again…just getting a feel for the future. No harm! We’re very upset with how today played out, but happy we at least viewed a few homes on our own. Won’t be dealing with Pete again!

Doing business with Clayton Homes was stressful, unorganized, unpleasant, and had over cost expenses. Fifteen days over one year warranty replacing mechanical parts at our expense which extended warranty does not cover. It all started with them bringing wrong house. We regret doing business with them.

I planned an appointment for July 2nd at 3pm, they responded confirming it was an ok time and date, I arrived at 2:50 pm and the sign on the door said "Closed early, happy Independence day". Note, prior to this I had scheduled an appointment which they confirmed multiple times that this was ok. I called when I got there with no answer, they did not ever tell me they wouldnt be there, awful experience, would not recommend.

We are currently working with Brody, and having a wonderful experience! He is helpful, kind, offers explanations that help clarify, and was more than willing to crunch numbers to come up with an estimate for us. We were hesitant inquiring as a walk-in, but Brody made us feel more than welcome! We look forward to our future interactions with him. :-)
