A very clean splash pad for kids that's not too far from FM 423 and has good parking available. Went there during the evening on a weekend and it wasn't that busy. Water was a bit cold, so probably might be a good idea to go when it's a bit sunny (rather than in the evening).

Most fun splash pad in DFW.

So much fun! Lots of water for the kids to play in and lots of shade and tables for families to sit at

I believe it opens memorial day weekend
Yes, we went yesterday and the kids had a blast!
I would recommend reaching out to the Little Elm Parks and Recreation department. The pavilion at the Splash Pad isnt listed on their site to rent, but it is newer so it may just be that they haven't updated the list yet. If it isn't available to rent, you would be limited to first-come, first-served access, need to share with others, and may also have a limit on the maximum size of your group. Their number is (972) 731-3296
My understanding is that pets are NOT allowed in the water due to health and safety reasons. The confusion may come from the fact that a dog park is part of the same phase of construction at McCord park, and are frequently promoted together.
McCord Park is close by and is connected by walking/biking trails. It's a fairly short walk (half mile) to the close side of McCord, but over a mile if you're going all thr way to the far side (where there's parking near the Racetrack gas station). Note that you have to cross the Witt Road bridge, but there's a walled pedestrian walkway to do so. It is hilly there, so be prepared. McCord has a disc golf course, a stream and pond, and a nice play structure for kids, in addition to lots of grass field space. The whole park is basically set down in the stream bed with large trees, so it's well-shaded and a great place to walk, jog, or bike. Because of the flood control basin, things can stay a bit wet after a large storm—so plan accordingly. For visiting the park, there's a small amount of parking at the top of the ramp near the Orion appartments. There's also a gravel/grass lot between there and the Race Track gas station that is frequently used, although I'm not sure it's official.
