We love our dog. Volunteers are awesome! Please adopt don't buy.

We were advised to be the first ones to pick up the dog we were interested in, we went ahead and started with the paperwork online and put an alternative number to reach out to my spouse if primary didnt answer. They called 2 mins before they closed and left a voicemail. We were not instructed to leave THEM a voicemail if we were still interested. So we showed up first thing NEXT morning only to be told someone had an appointment in 7 hours to see IF the dog would be picked up. I was told there was miscommunication! Absolutely not! Someone provided us incorrect information, someone else didn’t do their job and someone else tried to gaslight! Unbelievable! Isn’t this place supposed to find good homes for pets?! This place doesn’t have enough money to give the animals decent food! You don't even have enough money to keep the place afloat that the large dogs are being given away for free! Multiple people dropped the ball someone needs to take responsibility.

I want to thank the staff of Lewisville of letting me adopt my forever dogs who was extremely professional and informative. I lost my Chihuahua 2 weeks ago my Yorkie Poo 6 months ago and my other love pixie 3 years ago . It's always sad when you lose a family member . Life is not a home without a dog . Thank you so much I will be forever grateful for many years to come.

I just adopted from there yesterday and had an amazing experience. Everyone was so nice and caring
The shelter staff typically spend the beginning of their shift cleaning the shelter, administering medications to animals, addressing emergency service requests, and preparing for the day ahead.
We are a municipal animal shelter, so we are city funded and we also accept donations for our emergency medical fund, used for medical issues above and beyond core vaccinations and sterilizations.
Hi Sophie. We are not currently taking new volunteers right now, but hope to revamp our volunteer program by next spring. All volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
The adoption fee is typically $90. That includes sterilization, core vaccination, heartworm test and prevention while in the shelter, flea and tick control while in the shelter, worming, and microchip with registration. More information may be found by visiting our website at lewisvillepets.com
Yes. Free water is available today, Sunday, Feb. 21 and tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 22, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day. Be sure to bring your own containers.

Hi David, we do have a few cats looking for their forever homes, but I don't believe any of them are Siamese. Feel free to take a look at our available animals on our adoptable pets webpage at https://www.cityoflewisville.com/about-us/city-services/animal-services/adoptable-pets. You might also check other shelters or pet rescue groups to see if they might have the type of cat you are looking for.
Hello Isabel - you can find a list of accepted donations items at https://www.cityoflewisville.com/home/showpublisheddocument?id=6694
For bringing one home? Carrier, Bowls, Food, Toys, Scratcher, Litter box, and collar/tag are some of the basics. Here is a good article: https://www.comfortzone.com/behavior-blog/new-pet/necessary-cat-supplies If you mean, to give to the center, call and ask. Their needs constantly change so its best to speak directly with them to find out what they are currently looking for.
As far as I know, yes! My family and I have gotten plenty of dogs and cats and they've all been vaccinated and neutered. I think if they arent or if the pet needs extra care it will be written on their paperwork! I hope this helped!
Call the Lewisville animal shelter and let them know. They open up at 10:00am.
