It is a small museum, but their gallery collection is superb. Upstairs is the re-creation of the Greek Parthenon with the huge statue. The brass doors are magnificent. There is an exhibition of the 1896 Exposition with photos, descriptions, and memorabilia from that time. Very interesting. The surrounding park is lovely and a favorite place of the locals.

We went on a busy Sunday, so it took a bit to find parking. The size is pretty awe-inspiring, and the park around it is large and well-kept. There are great walking paths and a nice pond, as well as lots of statues. Good place to spend an afternoon

Doesn’t matter whether you are interested in Greek mythology or not, visit this place. Parthenon is the ancient Greek temple of goddess Athena. This one is the only full size replica of the original. This is huge with a humongous statue of Athena inside. I loved it. It’s a must visit place if you are around.

Definitely, definitely a must see when visiting Nashville- Such a beautiful structure! The process and history are very fascinating. Although we visited on a bitter cold day, we spent a fair amount of time on the outside and inside exploring. The way the old remnants are displayed at the end of the museum were presented very nicely so you could see what part they came from the top frame of the building. The park is also quite tranquil, it’d be an ideal place to read a book or just relax. We’ll be back to visit on a warmer day for sure!
