Bunch of power tripping employees. We had professional appraisals at our tax protest and they basically said you’re right but too bad. Ridiculous….as soon as I can get out of this crooked county, I will. Now there’s an overage and they won’t refund

Sorry I’m not good at writing bad reviews. But taught I should share my unfortunate experience with one of the Juror Ms. PE assigned to my case. A selected Juror is expected to be independent and fair but unfortunately she was NOT. She refused to look at my evidence and claimed as a property owner I should be ready to invest in my home. She stated that my repair works are minor works and are not evidences she will consider. After rejecting my evidences she was very proud to give a “Thump up”to a county employee at the end of her presentation of evidence on behalf of the county, this was very strange from a Juror that claimed to be independent. I have never in my little life experience and travels across 4 continents meet someone with genuine bias. She single handed valued my home without taking into consideration the evidence I submitted and the 2 other Jurors Yea it. At the beginning of my hearing one of the juror said that they have not seen any evidence on my case prior to my hearing but what a coincidence a jury member valued my home the same amount (including the .00) I was offered online……..independent!!! I explained to her that my home situation is different and we should not discuss it based on a generic values presented by the county, but she ignored my plea. With the increase in our home value by her and accepted by county our taxes will increased significantly that we might not afford payment. My plea to Kaufman county is to please select Jurors that can hear cases with fairness. My major frustration was that my case was determined by a single juror and there was absolutely no deliberation among the jury before a decision was made.

CROOKS! Stealing from property owners. INCREASING ASSESSED VALUE AFFECTING TAXES. Schools are horrible, roads are horrible, properties are run down, but they want to appraise everything like Rockwall or Plano. Kaufman county does not offer anything near its value compared to counties nearby. Just sell and run away fast!

If you have question about property values we will do our best to answer it. If you have a concern about taxes that would need to be addressed with the taxing entities when they have public hearing on tax rates.
If a property has deed restrictions they would be found on the most recent deed filed of record with the County Clerks office.
No we do not operate as a polling place.
Homestead exemptions do not have to be applied for annually. Once approved there is no need to reapply unless we send you notification to do so.
Kaufman CAD is not involved in that process.

Lately, they've raised taxes even if you plant a tree. Any tiny improvement to beautify Kaufman, you will pay for through the nose in perpetuity.
No they don't automatically change it. You must go to the Appraisal District to protest & speak with someone. I'm not quite sure what the time limit is, but you should go out there.
