Short and sweet. Roughly a mile from the dirt road, with enough sun and shade, flat, switch back and steep climbing-over-rock combination. Stunning views at the top of the wide expance of flat rocky plains and the New Melones lake.

Great hiking place and there is climbing spots too. Great view and great trail, everybody can go, it is amazing experience and just around 1h you can be in the top of the mountain, you can walk all to the top and see different perspective and spend a couple hour, I walked around 3h in the top in the mountain looking for another trail and find another views. But, just there are no many direction to find the way to the top and the top is pretty hard to find a good road to walk.

First place I've been hiking in a very long time. Loved the experience, definitely going again. Go see Jerry.

Super duper hike! We have been several times, but mostly in spring time or early winter because its much too hot in summer. Long flowing trail in oak woodlands in the beginning of trail but you will eventually start a up hill climb with loose dirt and very rocky switchbacks. Be very careful on rocks. Near the top there is a trail that goes to the left it is narrow with old pieces of barbed wire turn around you are on the wrong trail! The main trail curves to the right and up a steep rock face, do not worry that is the way! :) There is a faint trail on the top I would suggest staying on that trail to not step on the tiny flowers/plants. FYI places near water will have poison oak. Count three leaves green to red in color, do not touch. Have fun. Wear a hat. Stay safe. Also folks rock climb there so be respectful of their gear laying on top near rock edge.

If everyone else using the trail is the same kinda individual that Iam..... I would have to say as long as you are respectful and courteous on your Mt. Bike you and your bike will be welcome... :)
ive seen small kids at the top, but would not recommend it. the last section is very steep and rocky. takes less than an hour to the top, its a short hike. from the outhouse to the top is 17 minutes last time i timed it.
1) The police lost and found 2) Check and post on all the Tuolumne Facebook pages like "Sonoraville lost and found anything" and "Sonora and surrounding lost and found" 3) Maybe call other departments like Fish and Game? 4) And maybe check with the adjacent neighborhood residents? If the police department has it, they will only give it back to you if you have HARD PROOF it's yours. Good Luck!
Check with New Melones Visitor Center they have guided hikes by a ranger on some Saturdays. Hot hike in sumner months, but there is shaded areas. Park on Shell Rd at begining of trail head. Great hike!! Enjoy yourself!!
