Was a typical Holiday Inn Express, mattresses were older than others we've been at this trip and the floor we were on had a very slight odor like years old cigarette smell. Staff were helpful and prompt, A+. Breakfast was dandy. At least 1 restaurant within walking distance gives it a bonus.

The only thing to complain about would be the lack of a exhaust fan in the bathroom. A side from that met or exceeded our expectations. Hospitality was 5 star, nice sized pool and a workout area. Workout area wasn’t huge but had enough free weights and heavy enough to allow for a solid workout. Comfortable beds, clean rooms and well maintained common areas. Would definitely recommend.

My stay was from a Tuesday night through a Saturday check-out. Upon check-in, I requested housekeeping service for my room during my stay and was told by the desk clerk I would be added to the list. After the 1st full day, housekeeping had not been received so I again contacted the desk clerk (not the same one) and they informed me housekeeping would visit. Second full day and still no housekeeping - same promise as before. After the third day without housekeeping, I was able to actually catch the head of housekeeping services on my floor. She informed me that she had never been told by the front desk of my request for housekeeping services and also advised she would gladly have tended to my room had she been advised of my request. She suggested I speak with the manager which I did. The manager was very apologetic and credited my bill for one full night. While I do appreciate her actions, it boggles my mind that this hotel has a serious problem with basic communication between its staff. I made a total of four separate requests, and not once did I "make it" to the housekeeping list. All I was given was a sorry excuse about how their staff was limited and were placing a priority on cleaning rooms with "check-outs" so they would be ready for newly arriving guests. This seems like a really poor approach for a hotel to adopt, if in fact it is true. There are many choices available for hotel rooms - maybe I should consider another brand...

The emoyees were very nice and tried to be as helpful as they could, but other than that, this was easily the worst Holiday Inn Express I have ever stayed at. So where to start? The furniture was falling apart. The mattress was horrible. The first night we had to dry off with hand towels because the 2 bath towels that were in our room had red and brown spots on them (I hope they were just stains) and they had no more clean towels to give us. The second night, when we asked for more towels, they still only had 4 to give us (a party of 5). The wallpaper and the shades were torn. The dresser under the TV had drawers that wouldn't stay closed, and when you push them closed, the TV would power off. No microwave in the room, but the mini fridge was huge and could hold a full sized pizza box easily. The breakfast was good, but the 3 trash bins were overflowing. Once again, the hotel was terrible, but the staff seemed to be doing their best. I suspect that their manager/owner might need some attention from corporate though. They told me that three housekeepers walked off on the day we arrived. No clean towels. Poorly maintained furniture. I almost exclusively stay at IHG hotels, usually preferring Holiday Inn Express. I do so because (until now) I could always count on a clean, well maintained room, good free breakfast, etc. I gave two stars instead of only one because the staff seemed to be trying so hard to keep up.
