I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I was homeless and didn't even have an ID. No money, nothing. I ended up going to rehab and Guildhaus thankfully took me in. They gave me an opportunity to get on my feet, they provided food while I waited for my LINK card, they helped me find a job, they had counselors for me. I don't think AA is perfect, but I think the people at the Guildhaus really care. Recovery is never easy, they are serious about helping people and you have to want it for yourself.

Guildhaus is a half way house for men recovering from drug and/or alcohol addiction. We don't generally take parole.

What is the procedure for registering for residency at Guildhaus? My son will be released from Vandalia Corrections, but I live in Florida so it is difficult.

He needs permission from the court because it's out of state and it depends on if they have room. My son is there now. Your son will probably be required to go to an intervention center here or there first. Trust me I know exactly what you are saying and going through. He started acting up when he was around 14 he's now 32 and worth every year, stress and money that I had to go through. He's like me a very strong Christian. I really wish I would have seen this when you posted it but he just went in late last year

Can you have a job and do they provide transportation

Yes Duane, we require our residents to have employment as soon as they can after they get her. They are required to be home for family dinner at 6 during the first 3 months so they would not be able to work that shift. No, we do not provide transportation, however, we provide a bus pass and we are close to public transportation. Please give us a call if you have further questions or decide to do an intake evaluation.
