The last day, before they close for the winter, they have a Doggie Beach Bash. It was so much fun to see all of the dogs run around, swim & play fetch!

the pay there was reasonable for an unskilled job, however certain areas of the job could have been improved. such as they did not take care of the "break room" and it was literally falling apart. they also did not clean waste out of the pools until the park, i dont know if that is all the time or not, there was human waste in the wave pool during my morning shift. when i got off i decided to just hop in the pools and cool off, when i had noticed that it was still lingering in the wave pool a couple hours after the staff was notified. the maintenance area behind the beach bay bathrooms was almost always flooded. not too bad but it was noticeable. the gear they had us use to clean up most messes was either bleach, bleach-like sprays, or just the normal everyday cleaner. the gear to clean up messes, spills, or human waste was outdated or just ran out very quickly. i also noticed that some buildings were not taken care of that well, beach side bay bathrooms is an example. i would say that we did our best to keep it clean however the exterior is not the best. this was just my department, i do not know how other departments were. on busy days its hard to find people we are looking for and whenever im not working i have noticed that its hard to find spots to rest my stuff whenever im there. security cameras are rarely used because i have noticed a few people sneaking into the park from the gate by the "break room". i was on the other side of the wave pool when this happened and i had lost the people who snuck in. there is also a little river that people were not allowed into and we had to ask whoever was in there to leave it. this was by the seating areas (not the endless river). there were no signs indicating that people were not allowed in there which is sometimes annoying. they never told us why people where not allowed in there but my guess is just that its for safety. most commonly kids would go in it and run around in it and they had to be removed from that river. some families would sit in the end of it by the splash-a-tory not going any further than that little bank. which to this day i dont know why the havent added signs to there telling us why people could not go in there. in my experience there, the worst parts were kids and teenagers without adult supervision from a parents or guardian. they would leave HUGE messes, never follow any rules ( some had to get kicked out but getting kicked out was an almost rare occurrence), and were often very rude. i had spent and hour and a half cleaning out melted popsicles, and popsicle sticks which were EVERYWHERE, and the trash they had left me with. they were rude almost the entire time i was cleaning it up. AS A REMINDER TO PARENTS, IF YOUR CHILD OR TEENAGER WANTS TO GO TO NRH20 WITH THEIR FRIENDS ALONE, GO WITH THEM. IF YOU LEAVE THEM BY THEMSELVES THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THEY WILL BE RUDE TO EMPLOYEES!!! however there were some benefits, like discounts off of everything, (5-10%) being able to bring a certain amount of people in for free, monthly tickets you could give out to friends, family or just people entering the park. everyone there is friendly and puts on a nice smile. it is a very social and friendly workplace how ever i do not see it being a life long commitment to working there, however each year you get a $0.25 each year. the one thing that i never really understood was why they sold slime at the gift shop. with all the kids running around unsupervised, it seemed like a bad idea. the toughest days were school field trips for all employees working outside. more trash would magically appear and i would imagine lifeguards would have more people than normal to watch over, because they almost never rented out the park. which is understandable because its expensive but having the extra 100 kids there is an hassle for some employees. some departments would be lacking on employees so everyone in those departments would have a little bit harder time. i would only recommend this job for 15 year olds as a first job or just someone in school looking for a summer job.

Green extreme will likely be closed all season. They are waiting for a part for the slide. As of June 1 it was still down. If it's anything like the "belly slide" ride as my kids call it (don't know the official name) that was down all season long last year waiting for a part.
Make sure you book a gazebo as soon as possible, even with the North Richland Hills resident privileges, they do get reserved fast and they are limited. Have fun.

Not just yet, but Epic Waters is an indoor park in Grand Prairie that offers a similar experience. It's smaller and no outside food, but it is a pretty good substitute during the months NRH20 is closed.
