With my current gym under construction I decided to try Freestone in the meantime. So glad I did, I can honestly say I love it! Will probably make the switch permanent. It has all the equipment, classes & amenities as a corporate gym with only a fraction of the crowd.

Fantastic recreation center with clean facilities, assortment of options (gym, basketball, classes, track, steam-room, rock wall, tennis and more) and everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful. I especially love the Pilates classes and Liza is likely the best instructor I’ve ever taken a class under. She does a wonderful job making Pilates approachable and fun. Overall, I feel incredibly lucky to have this in my community and have had such great experiences at the Rec center.

Yes. It's very minimal. For Gilbert residents, a day pass is <$5.
You have to go to the Recreation website. From there, create an account if you don't already have one. Then select rock wall waiver and add it to cart. Go to your cart and select the waiver, and it will open the form for you to fill out. After you fill it out and submit it you just have to go to the Rec. Center and they can look it up. It's a fully functional gym, yes. The treadmills are a little dated, but there's plenty of newer machines, free weights, racquetball courts, small indoor track, basketball court, and stretching mats. It's a nice little gym!

There isn't a pool. Try ymca or Kiwanis recreation center in Tempe for a pool
The aerobics rooms are for group fitness classss or registration based classes. You can rent them by the hour.

Ive been coming here since high school when it was 2.50 to get in. Now that i live in chandler years later its 6.75. I dont like paying extra because i dont live in the gilbert anymore. Even though im closer than ever to the location.
The tennis courts are outdoors and thus they are not managed by the Freestone Rec staff. I understand that it is on a first come basis.
