Easy to get signed up online. Singin was quick and easy to enter shooting range. Great safety video on expectation prior to entering the range.

Sadly disappointed. Have been to Independence several times, but,… this will likely be the last. Called and asked about one of the handguns my wife was interested in “yes we have that” arrived to give it a try, and no we don’t. To make matters worse, the employee was rude about the particular manufacturer and said anything but that gun would be better,… this was an odd, angering interaction, frustrated we left. We will have to find another method of verifying the gun she wants will work for her.

IIS has a very clean and professional range. Safety policies are clearly stated and kindly enforced. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. It's a great place to learn, purchase and shoot.

Everyone here was incredibly helpful. The employees wanted to help and have a good time. I would highly recommend IIS to anyone!

For the 25-yd lanes it is $18 for first person and $15 for each additional shooter up to 4 shooters assigned to one booth. Basic handguns are $10 to rent one. For $25 you can try out all the different basic handguns (9mm, .40, .45 ACP). When customers rent our guns we require them to shoot our ammo through it. That way we know exactly what is going through the gun and it helps keep our insurance costs down. If all you need is a great safe place to shoot you can bring in you own firearms, ammo, and targets and all you pay for is the lane rental fee. We don't allow armor piercing rounds, steel core, incendiary, or dum dum rounds. Brittany Ward is correct. She's hired!
You can shoot your own unless you are renting one of their guns for those you have to buy the ammo from them
Yes we offer enhanced conceal carry courses. They are taught in our comfortable classrooms and you get to shoot on our indoor range. Our instructors are some of the best in the state, they are the same instructors that teach at the Idaho Post Academy. Our course is also backed by the USCCA, and comes with a book. The cost of the course is on par with other local providers at $150.00. There is no more professional, safe, and comfortable place to take this course in the state of Idaho. Please disregard the comment from Safari Hunter, he is a disgruntled formal employee. Please shoot safe and thanks for the inquiry.
Yes a lot to choose from including 50cal, fully auto and suppressed firearm
Normally reservations are not needed. But you might check with them as they book birthday parties and group range times some days. Their Class schedules are normally posted on their website. You can always stop in for a informational flyer on their current classes.
How long is the women's beginner class if it starts at 6pm?
We don't have a senior citizen discount in the store, but we do have a Senior morning on Wednesdays from 10am-12pm and receive half off range fees. Our women's night is Tuesday evening from 5pm to close. Thanks for you inquire.
It is not hourly. It is a simple range fee. It is $18ish for range fee per use but only $35ish for a monthly unlimited membership which includes 2 guest passes. Much better deal if you plan to go more than once.
Bring, or buy. Paid courses supply targets.
That class is about 3.5 to 4 hours long and is a wonderful class (sometimes classes go a little beyond our closing time for regular retail customers.) Sarah, the academy director usually teaches it and does a wonderful job. Our instructors are first rate.
Yes. One of the accompanying family members must be at least 18 years old. The youngest shooters must be at least 8 years old.
No they don't provide free glasses unless you are taking a private lesson, and then they do have a pair for you to use during the lesson.
When you rent a firearm from us the ammunition is not included. The ammunition prices vary from week to week and are different for the different calibers. The least expensive ammunition is .22 caliber and is usually about $0.10 per round. Larger caliber ammunition like 9mm costs about $0.35 per round right now. When you rent a firearm from us you must use ammunition purchased from us in that firearm. That is a requirement from our insurance carrier. We try to keep our ammunition prices at or below big box retailers in the area but prices and availability have flucuation widely since 2020 through 2022.
Concealed Carry classes are scheduled on our calendar. https://www.iishooting.com/calendar You can sign up for a class on the training portion of our website. https://rangegenius.com/businesses/independence-indoor-shooting/training You can arrange for private instruction 208-576-4867 and asking for Gavin, the Academy director
Yes, air rifles are welcome. Lead pellets are welcome. Steel BB's are not allowed. On the 100 yd range you may set the target at any distance from 5 to 100 yards. The target carrier distance can also be set using Meters. The Olympic air rifle events are in Meters.
Yes. Please come in and shoot.
Yes. Steel case is allowed. No steel in the bullets is allowed. (Wolf Military Classic .223 is allowed.)
Yes but only if they are shooting lead BuckShot or lead slugs. No smaller shot and no bird shot or steel shot or steel ammunition is allowed.
You can shoot regular ammunition (ball ammo) including lead, copper covered, copper, full metal jacketed copper over lead including hollow point, self defense, and Glaser rounds. We do not allow steel bullets, armor piercing, incendiary, tracer, or dum-dum (explosive rounds).
No. But you are welcome to wear one.
Shotguns shooting lead slugs or buckshot are allowed. No steel, armor piercing, incendiary (dragons breath), or smaller shot (bird/target) are allowed.
Most indoor ranges are 100% good to go with steel cased ammo, but as long as the projectiles themselves dont contain steel, like a steel core or a bi-metal jacket which can cause issues on an indoor range. I would ask them what their policy is next time you're there. For most pistol ammo that is steel cased, you should be fine.
No cannot do
Yes. Absolutely.
You do not need a certain license. If you have committed certain crimes or are a convicted felon then you cannot possess or shoot a gun. You must be at least 21 years old to rent a handgun, 18 years old to rent a rifle or a machine gun. The minimum age to shoot in our range is 8 years old. Shooters younger than 18 years old must be accompanied by and supervised by a responsible adult. We have range safety officers to help new shooters. If you are hunting animals then you must have a license issued by the state.
No. Steel bullets/projectiles are not allowed. Steel casings are allowed but nothing with any steel in the bullet. Bimetal bullets as in lead with a copper jacket is allowed. No bullet containing any amount of steel is allowed. It would cause damage to our equipment and will dangerously ricochet if it hits our steel plates or when it hits another bullet in our rubber berm.
Correct. No Bazookas, dum dums, tracers, armor piercing, steel core, or steel rounds. As far as caliber goes we don't have a restriction. We allow up to .50 BMG. We have a .50cal Barrett that we rent for $20 bucks and it is awesome to shoot. A few people have brought in their .50 cal rifles. However, if you shoot our equipment then we charge you for the repair costs and lost revenue if you make it go down for repairs. One customer has a 30mm gattling attached to his A-10. While we felt that it flies slow enough we could allow it in the range our equipment manufacturer has not certified the range equipment to that caliber so we unfortunately had to tell the customer no. But, any caliber a civilian might own is allowed.
Your firearm should be here Wednesday or Thursday. You sight will be here Thursday or Friday. Our gunsmith can have the sights installed Monday. Tentative pick up as soon as Monday evening. Thanks so much for your order. We hope you enjoy this new setup.
Yes to your answers not sure of costs
No, we we do not allow Muzzleloaders.
25-yd lane is $18 100-yd Lane is $25 Fees are good for all day. Shoot as long as you want. If we get busy and people are waiting for a lane then we limit shooters to 1 hour in the lane and then they can get back in line and shoot some more. That let's more shooters get a chance to shoot. Most weekdays there is never a wait. Some people will shoot in the morning and go out for lunch and come back and shoot later in the afternoon or evening. Their fee is still good for the whole day. Friday nights and Saturdays we sometimes have a wait that lasts 20 to 40 minutes. Monthly memberships are priced at $35 for the 25-yd bays and $48 for the 100yd bay (which includes the shorter bays) and allows you to shoot as much as you want during the month. Memberships are priced so that they are cheaper than coming in twice and paying the regular fee.
As young as 8 years old.
All of the membership packages are on their website for both monthly and annual rates. 😎
8 years old
Yes. You may shoot buck shot and slugs but not bird shot.
The shooting lane rental fees and gun rental fees are for all day with a qualification. If someone is waiting for a lane then we will limit shooters to 1 hour and then ask them to give up thier lane to let other people have a turn shoot. if you have to give up your lane you can then get back in line but you don't have to pay another fee. You can leave and come back later. Go home for lunch. Come back that night. Once you have paid a range fee it is good for all day. Same goes if you rent a gun. You must purchase ammunition from us to use with the rental guns. That way we know what is going through our rentals. We have some of the cheapest ammo prices in town. We hope you come in and see what shooting at Independence is like. If you are a new shooter we have range safety officers that can help you as well. The rental guns are a great way to see what gun you may want to buy or what caliber you like to shoot.
Within reason.
If you are asking if they do gun rentals yes. The price varies depending on what you are looking to rent. Before you do anything you will have to sign a waiver and scan your license
