Beautiful park! Here in the fall, water has been reduced to prepare for spring snow melt. Still plenty of water to kite board, & wind.

The water is soooo low. Haven't seen the lake like that in years.

Question please. If I park below the dam to launch boat by Barclays Bay, can u leave your vehicle and trailer overnight to camp overnight in your boat? Parking lot says day use so not sure if vehicles can be left in parking space overnight. Thanks!

Yes, vehicles can be left overnight to camp on the lake. The area is day use only for those staying at the swim area/frisbee golf/ picnic areas. Lots of kids used to come up at night to smoke weed and "make out" etc. So Army Corps made it day use only for those areas around Barclay Bay and Turner Gulch. Make sure you lock your vehicle if left overnight. Lots of stolen items from unlocked cars. Enjoy.

Are the campsites open right now? I would like to hike to one of the spots (that are by the lake when water level is up) and camp for a night.

Kevin is correct. Also, fires must be in an actual fire pit made by the Corps of Engineers. No fires on the beach. Macks Creek is the best place to camp in the area. Family friendly and regulated by the Army Corps Rangers.
