The location is the only good part of living here! you might think the amenities are good, but no. The golf simulator is too small to actually swing in. The gym is relatively small, the pool is dirty and hasn’t been open all year, the grills haven’t been cleaned. Ever., the “dog spa” is now a closest! There has been constant construction/ maintenance. Workers are messy and leave their trash in the hallways and garage. And management puts unreasonable “rules” for the residents to follow. Example: you have to leave the building from 9-5, shutting off water for almost 12 hours, forcing giant/loud air purifiers into residents rooms. Plus most rooms have black mold!!! The maintenance workers have let themselves in our apartment while my girlfriend was home alone sleeping!! Also one of the biggest inconveniences are that my electronic key fob will not let me into the building or my room! And if you ask them to fix it, you’d be lucky for them to actually fix the problem. So be ready to be locked out of the building regularly. Not to mention they charge you $50 if they have to reprogram your key!! This place is designed to take advantage of college kids!! They charge way too much for a cleaning fee after you move out! (≈$30 for them to wipe dust off a desk/≈$50 trash bag left in the room). Again, charging $50 for them to let you back into the room, and they changed the locks to automatically lock behind you. The front desk workers are good but you can tell they’re under a lot of stress and get irritable easy. But they do got a lot on their plate obviously.

I was a previous tenant at The Deacon and l was visiting a friend and it is a completely different place. I love the renovations in the hallway (they removed the carpet and put flooring down). I’ve only heard bad things recently but I’d move back there in a heartbeat. My friends room was actually clean and ready when she got there!

worst living experience ever. takes forever to get packages, can never get ahold of anyone at the desk, floors in the hallways and apartment floors are disgusting when you move in. Management is a joke and not helpful whatsoever and your lucky if you ever hear back from them. Constant fire alarms, horrible smells, and you can never use the amenities like the pool that has been closed all year. they also charged me over $1000 for the month of August when they wouldn’t let me move in until the 21st. That’s a full months rent when I wasn’t allowed to move in until there was one week left in the month. I was told it would be pro rated which ended up not being true.

Our social media is another excellent way to meet possible roommates!
The redecoration fee is intended to cover the costs associated with returning your apartment to “like new” conditions upon your move-out, keeping normal wear and tear in mind. You will be responsible for general cleaning of your apartment prior to vacating.
If you have signed an individual term lease we can indeed help match you with a roommate. However, The Deacon can’t guarantee that all preferences can be met. If a conflict does arise please contact the leasing office and we will assist with exploring potential resolutions. However, The Deacon is not responsible or liable for any claims, damages, or actions of any nature whatsoever relating to, arising out of or connected with disputes between potential or selected roommates.
Individual leasing means peace of mind for both parents and students. An individual lease means you are only responsible for your student’s space, not the full apartment as a typical joint lease would be structured. Common areas are shared responsibility among all roommates (ie, living room, kitchen, etc.). Our term lease structure is a lease that begins on a specified date and ends on a specified date, for one fee. This fee is conveniently administered in 12 installments.
In order to finalize your lease documents, you must qualify to reside with us. There are four ways to qualify: 1. Parental/Sponsor Guaranty 2. I-20 with qualifications 3. Financial Aid with qualifications 4. Income with qualifications Please contact our leasing office to discuss the various options for qualifying to reside at The Deacon.
At The Deacon we provide fully furnished units with all of our apartments including bedroom and common area furniture, but you may bring whatever furniture you wish with you. Please contact our leasing office for a full list of what furniture will be provided in your new home.
