So relaxing. Nice campers. Lovely river. Loud alarms when water changes but you get use to it. No wifi and no cell signal make it the perfect get away..

AC002. This is one of the best spots at Acorn campground. Not a lot of brush blocking the view of the river. Lots are nicely spread out and the new bath house is only a 100 yards away. You have to book way in advance but totally worth it.

We stayed the last weekend in February. We were blessed with some good weather to go hiking, cook on the grill, read a book outside by the fire. It was our first visit and we fell in love. We tried the cafe too and it was fantastic! The staff was so sweet and very informative and we also had a couple guests watching us through the window. Lol this is such a great state park. You can tell how much the staff cares. The park and all the buildings are very well kept and clean. We will definitely be back!

Love the place. Every time we get a chance we make the 4 hour drive just to relax at this place

I would like to book 10/15 - 10/21
If staying in the Acorn campsites you can not access the water. You can not enter the water down stream of the power station. You can Fish there but not kayak, boat, swim, etc. You'll have to drive about 3-10 minutes to get to a river access point.
Check in is at 5pm, but you can usually get in earlier since checkout is at 2. These camp sites are reservation only so don't expect to find a spot if you just show up.
You probably need one of the pull through sites
You can go to the state park website and reserve a campsite then use the recepticle, but you want to let the camp host know what you are doing since it is an irregular use of the site and show them your receipt.
Be sure to take TP. They aren't supplying Toilet paper in the bathrooms. Fortunately, we were told before we went.
They don't have water at the individual sites but did have electric and their bathroom/shower house was open when we went last week.
I believe the only pull through sites are handicap. They have plenty of large sites that are easy enough to back in. We have a 32' bumper pull and I've not had any issues parking.
Depends on what campsite you get. If it's a tent area then you pay the office but if it is an RV then you pay the people who are in that area. Trust me they will come to you shortly after you pull in and get started setting up
