Hi Brian, I am assuming you were asking why do we close in July? We have closed for the month of July for over 60 years. Being a family business it was the only way my in-laws could take a vacation as a family. When Kevin and I took over the business we continue the tradition. As the business grew and we added more employees it gave us the opportunity to have everybody have time off at the same time so that through our “ busy season” which is fall through Easter employees were available to work without taking vacation time. Also the warmer months are the slower months for us. Have a good summer!

Hello, Happy Sunday! Sounds like you’re referring to the shop that was at the corner of Goodman and Benton. That was before my husband and my time. Stever’s Has is never served ice cream in any of our shops. I’m not sure about the hard candy wrapped in wax paper… I know that after the war, chocolate was rationed and they open the shop in 1946 so they didn’t have chocolate for several years and Mr. Stever’s Senior would make hard candy and caramels that I’m sure they wrapped by hand. We no longer make any hard candy, as we do not have the equipment and it’s very labor-intensive. We do however make all the chocolates we sell in our shop. We are monitoring the number of people in the shop at one time. We are all wearing masks and customers must also were a mask that covers nose & mouth while in the shop. We are sanitizing the baskets that customers use to carry their candy & also the counter tops. Employees are taking their temp every day when they come into work. We have plexi barriers on all countertops.

Hi Pamela, funny you should ask! We just got back from our candy show… and we found a mold for a teapot that we like. We have ordered the mold and will probably make them for this Christmas. Hi Ralph, Sorry to be just seeing this now. We did not realize that on Google there was a place for questions! At this time of year we do not have baskets or platters.
