If you Google this place, you will see some problems in its past. But those are all dealt with. New leadership, new ownership, those responsible for different things have been taken to task. It is a wonderful place, people , and spiritual center. So glad it survived the Cameron Peaks fire.

Very peaceful and serine. Beautiful place in the middle of the mountains.

A unique land with beautiful spaces to sit with one's breath, to eat healthy deliciously seasoned food, and to learn something new with the different programs.

A truly sublime area deep in the Colorado mountains. Entire staff from teachers to drivers are deeply thoughtful and welcoming. The property is immaculately maintained, with many of the buildings blending in with the surroundings, lending to the feeling of utter seclusion and solitude. The sunrises are spectacular and the sunsets unforgettable. A transformative experience for anyone that I highly recommend.

Seems like a great question to email, or call the office about. I'm sure some one will know.

Canvisitors walk up to the stupa now? Can visitors go inside the stupa?

Mary Rundquist | Jan 11, 2021
Shambhala Mountain Center (Owner) | Jan 12, 2021

Hi Mary, the land and the Stupa are still currently closed to visitors. We'll post any updates to that on our webpage:https://www.shambhalamountain.org/ Please join us for an online program in the meantime. We're looking forward to hosting folks on the land again soon. Warmly, Kitty @SMC

Look at their website for open core staff and volunteer positions. I suggest the Spring set-up or fall take down (up to 6 weeks each) to get a taste of what it is like to live and work there.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Call ahead and talk to them. I believe, but don't quote me, that there is a way to drive up pretty close to the Stupa. The trail up is not something I'd consider wheelchair convenient even if you could make it work.
