Wonderful setting, well maintained, nice drive to get there... Has become a favorite of ours to walk the 2.6 mile trail around the lake.

Such a gorgeous setting in the mountains! This isn't a secluded place to camp but the benefits of the lake are hard to beat. Tons of rock formations for to climb, many coves to explore in the lake, and clean restrooms. Highly recommended! Firewood and water available on-site (water isn't year round).

Beautiful campground! Most sites have easy access to the lake. Great for kayaks and small fishing boats. Great supermarket near entrance. Excellent cell phone coverage (VzW).

This campsite was amazing! Great views and lots of sites right on the lake, where you can take your canoe or non-morotized boat out. There are also plenty of sites off the lake but still nearby that cost less. They have sites that are for RV'S, double camp sites, and singles, all ranging in prices. I know the double on the lake is around $50 a night. The campsite is also very well maintained by the staff. This is a great place for the whole family, if you go early or late in the season, it is way more quiet but still a little busy since it is such a great spot. My wife and I are definitely going back!

Yes $32 a site shared electricity $64 total.
We were there in August and the fish we caught were all diseased
Yes you can. https://www.recreation.gov/search?q=Dowdy%20lake&inventory_type=camping&inventory_type=dayuse
First come first serve is only during the non peak season. In the summer you need to reserve I believe. Electric spots are about $27 a night
Yes. In certain areas you can get to lake easier than others. There is handicapped spots to park in day use.
We stayed at the campground this week from Wed-Sun Aug 19-23, and it was *not* closed. Most of the surrounding area is closed, but this campground and town are still open. I recommend https://nocoalert.org to see latest areas that are closed.
They have closed all the campgrounds around red feathers lake due to the fires. I just received a email that our reservations for 8/16 thru 8/19 are cancelled
