We chose this place for Mom to go after a fall with 3 fractured ribs. Upon checking my Mom in, she was complaining that her knee started hurting really bad. She was transported from the hospital by Ambulance. Noone seemed to care or know how it happened. My Mom asked what to do if she had to go to the bathroom? The person in charge told her to just go on herself untill she is checked in. I asked for a Doctor about her knee. Two days later and still no Doctor. Yesterday they didn't give my Mom utensils with lunch. She kept pushing her call button and waited so long that she had to eat with her hands. They put diapers on her and left her soiled for hours. When she pushed her call button, someone told her to stop pushing her button so much. I called and told them she is laying in her bed soiled, when they came in, Mom asked "Are you here to change me"? The person said, with an attitude, "I guess". I did speak with a Supervisor who apologized that she was out yesterday this will not happen again. We will see but these things should of never happened. Edit***day 3 No utensils with her Breakfast. When my Mom asked the lady said she will get it when she can. Then a while later flipped the fork to my Mom. This was after talking with the Supervisor yesterday. Also, Mom can't read the menu due to Cataract in her eyes, I told them she needs help with that and have not onve asked her what she wants. They just bring something they picked. Update*** still did not help Mom with her menu due to her not being able read due to cataracts and a stoke and still did not give Mom a fork with Breakfast. When she finally did get someone to come, the lady responded "She'll get it when she can." A while later she did come and flicked the fork to my Mom. I' trying to reach another Supervisor with no luck.

In my nearly 10 years of experience with family members here and elsewhere, I've found the staff and programs of their therapy, activities, and dietary depts to be exceptional. Nurses, on the whole, are above average also -- attentive, professional and empathic. Nursing assistant (CNA) staffing levels is an ongoing, often frustrating, concern however. Especially in the longterm units, where continuity of care is vital. But administrators are responsive, and really seem to be trying to address these challenges. A good facility overall.

My Mother has been in long term care at Woodward Hills for over two years. I am also a RN . Standard of care is my priority. The staff and support my Mother and I have received is remarkable...not perfect but I would recommend Woodward Hills to my Friends,Family and patients .

Yolanda is correct actually. Every patient is different, as is their recovery time and ability to participate and make significant progress in therapy. Our physicians and therapists make case-by-case determinations on each situation. This allows the patient to have goals that they are able to shoot for.
Yes Ardie - our facility actually specializes in short term rehabilitation stays following a patient's hospital stay.
Have never experience such negative I don’t care about patients. I am there now with a severe broken femur Took 4 days to get pain meds strong enough to at least dull the pain. I have a 2rods in my leg and most aides have been too rough getting me back in bed. I have been left on a very hard toilet seat right where I had surgery. They don’t come when I pull the chain. I (at great risk) got myself back to bed Because of pain. I set my timer and from first call and back 40 mins. I have severe COPD. O2 dep. 24/7. I believe I could die if I had an attack they finally come there is NO COMPASSION ONLY blank stares like I am bothering them. I am also deaf but have cochlear implants. I know it’s a hard job some work very hard but you don’t treat patients. Like this If they hate this job then get out. “I don’t have time “ is no excuse to wait an hour for water. I just can’t believe we are treated like this Woodward north. Bloomfield needs to evaluate their prospect employees.
