We did as well. Both my daughter in law and granddaughter have some serious food allergies. We were never questioned about the food we brought with us and ate in their cafeteria.

Yes, Sunday they open at 12 noon, pretty sure that Saturday they open at 9 or 10 am.

The museum is designed for children 8 years and under. I saw toddlers there, all the way up to kids that looked like they were about 10 years old. Although it is designed for children, I found it very enjoyable myself. I joked to my friends that I would want to come back sometime without the kids. But I was serious!

Not a lot, but yes. It's more fun for toddlers though. I'd suggest local library. Niles, Des Plaines libraries. Can't remember if Glenview has infant area, it might.
