We absolutely love Elkhart lake to swim! It's our favorite place to spend time in summer. The water is clean, it's shallow for a long way out and has a nice sandy area which is all perfect for little kids. Super inexpensive and the crowd is always very family oriented when we go. I highly recommend this beach if you've never been. It's so much warmer then lake Michigan, which is a plus for me because I can actually go in the water with my kids lol. There's a nice store that has floats and snacks/ drinks. They also have air to fill up your floats.

About a mile and a half away, you can camp at the Sheboygan Marsh County Park. Very nice place to camp and close to a lot of great things. The tallest observation tower in Wisconsin is right there on sight, along with one of the local's favorite restaurants.

The grassy area is all easily accessible. The beach area has a bit of a drop when it transitions to sand
