I had a very disappointing experience with River Sports. A month prior to me arriving in Knoxville, I spoke with someone at the bike shop regarding a mountain bike rental that I can pick up at Ijams so that I can do the 12 mile loop at Urban Wilderness. I let the man know that I couldn't transport the bike to Ijams myself and they assured me that they will drop the bike off at Ijams for me to pick up. All I needed to do was call a week prior and set it up. I called a week prior as instructed and had the same conversation. Again, I was assured the bike would be there at Ijams and they took my name and number. When I arrived at Ijams on June 11th, the bike was not there. Sarah, at Ijams, was super helpful and contacted Luke. Luke told Sarah that I needed to contact the employees at River Sports as he was at Meads Quarry that day and that they "would make something happen". Again, I did as instructed and the employee said that there was nothing they could do and that I could pick up a bike from their other location. I told her that I had spoken with two other people from the bike shop (a month and a week prior) and that we specifically agreed that I was able to pick it up at Ijams because of my inability to transport it myself. I hung up because I was done with them as they failed on their commitment to "make something happen". And Sarah at Ijams, who isn't even affiliated with River Sports and wasn't even her responsibility to fix it, worked something out with me. I am truly grateful for everyone at Ijams but really disappointed at River Sports for ruining my experience that I was looking forward to for months. I'm from Chicago so I don't know when or if I'll be back to experience the Urban Wilderness Trail.

Rentals are reasonably priced, many places to dock and a it's nice sized quarry!
