This is a great Rec center! The pool is great and the work out areas are clean and maintained.

They have a nice facility and the pool is fun for kids but they got the AC wayyyy too low for the pool area, and when you go to the changing room after swimming you feel like you might get hypothermia 🥶. Both times I’ve gone here, which are like a year apart, I’ve had this same experience. I know it’s hot outside but when people are standing there with water on their skin it’s pretty uncomfortable with the AC cranking that hard. I looked around and noticed multiple people that were visibly cold. It’s not like awful, just borderline uncomfortable and constantly present. Although the locker/changing rooms are literal ice boxes. Whoever is controlling the tstat, it’s too cold bruv. Even though it’s a little further drive I like the Murray rec center, they always have the temp on point, the water is warmer, and they let you take your small children down the big slide on your lap which almost none of these other places do which is so annoying. Not sure what they think will happen, it apparently works just fine for Murray and Lehi Legacy Center, but Lehi’s is a little too fast for toddlers on your lap, you come shooting out of that thing like a shotgun lol and they still let you do it.

If you don’t have a pass, it’s $7 for one time use. A great facility worth lots to do!

Yes. The kiddy pool closes at 4 on Saturday but the lap pool stay open until closing (9)
Depends on the activity you want to do. Some areas are age restricted or require a special pass/license for underaged youth.
Closes at 830. Age 2 and under is free. Age 3-17 is $4 pp, 18-61 is $7 pp, age 62-80 is $5 pp, age 80+ is free.
Yes, the track is upstairs. The track at JL circles the workout area, where as the Gene Fulmer circles the basketball courts.
Yes
So u can seen if their website has any specific options or (and I would suggest this one more) you can call them, they have a fully staffed front desk and not a lot of traffic so I think they would be more then happy to help you ☺☺☺
Humphries Archery in American Fork, and Salt Lake City Archery in Sugarhouse are both great for archery practice.
No. Not yet.
Unfortunately, no.
You pay for entry to the facility, not by activity. So you can't pay just to shower. For a single adult a day pass is $7, a month is $44, or a year is $290.
I don't think so but they do have a great child care center.
Yes, they are!
Yes
Yes. I think they have a sign that states that children 6 and under need a swimming buddy of 14 years old or older so 11 year olds are good to go
The pool is open year round (times vary based on swim meet and class schedules) but will close if it becomes contaminated, sometimes for a couple hours and other times for a full day. It's best to check the schedule and call ahead to see if the pool is currently open before you go.
I'm not sure what time it opens, but swimming usually closes at 8:30 PM.
3 feet I believe
It's 1/10 of a mile. http://laytonconstruction.com/JLSorenson.html
No
I'm on the high school swim team and am there every morning. It's a full 25 yards normally. If the diving boards are open they change the lane direction and then it's 22.5 yards. The deep end is deep (i think about 15 feet) and the shallow end is 3.5 feet (that's plenty of room for a flip turn if that's your thing). If you want to swim the full 25 yards check the pool schedule for open lap swim.
Yes you pay for membership at the front desk
Not quite sure if you understood what I was asking, or if this is the correct place to ask. Maybe a better question would have been, "Is the JL Sorenson Recreation Center a county facility, and is it a participant in Silver Sneakers, the senior citizens program that encourages exercise in older people?
Senior classes are Monday and Friday at 10 a.m. for the water classes and strength training for seniors is on Wednesdays at 10 am. The fee is $5 for seniors.
Days and Times: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri: 5:30 AM - 6:30 AM Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Sat: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM Tues: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
I believe body pump is a Les Mills class and they do not offer those.
Yup, or you could get an annual pass.
For day passes, 2 and under is free, 3-17 is $4, 18-61 is $7, 62+ is $5, and 80+ is free. Those day passes include access to the whole facility for the day, which also includes the studio, spin, and water aerobics classes. If you get a membership, it's generally way cheaper, depending on your usage. Prices vary based on age/number of people on the pass/one center vs all-county, etc. Hope that helps 😊
