To get approved for a home loan, you need to have your finances in order to prove to your lender that you can afford your home. Depending on the type of home loan you apply for and your lender, the minimum credit score will vary. In general, you want a score of at least 620, though some loans allow you to qualify with a credit score in the 500s.

Most of the disclosures that we provide the member can sign electronically. There are a few that require manual signature, but we usually send by email and they scan them back to us, or I recommend they go to their nearest branch and a team member can send it back to us. The closing paperwork at the very end is done in person.

When they apply, they don't necessarily lock in their interest rate. They can lock in up to 7 days prior to the closing date, but until they are locked in, the rates can fluctuate. The longest we can lock the rate is 60 days, but we usually don't lock them for more than 45 days. There is also a 30 day option and a 15 day option.
