Did the train ride at Schuylkill Haven for the annual Borough Day festivities. Pull by 2102, it was a great experience. 75 min train ride that worth it to try and try it again next time I will be around!

Took a train with family today to Pottsville. We were late by 20 minutes due to an unexpected issue. The lead engine pushed a tree branch and it grazed the side of the truck and knocked something with the brake so the train stopped for inspection as an alarm was tripped. Safety always is their motto painted on the steps of their locomotives and we appreciate it being heeded. We ended up being pushed by the rear engine. As we pulled into Union Station, a Reading Northern mechanic truck pulled in to service the engine It's great RNRR offers passenger and does a great job. Second time after a Jim Thorpe trip a few years ago and will do again. Shout out to Conductor John for his friendly demeanor and dropping knowledge. Pottsville was great welcoming. We visited Jerry's Classic Car museum - awesome, Black Rock Brewing - also awesome. Last, we toured the Yuengling plant, another cool place!

They are still running. New scheduled will be posted on late March. Not going into Jim Thorpe update as of 17 Feb 20. Will resume trips to Jim Thorpe in the late spring.

Are you stupid?

I read with serious interest your Trains article. 2102's tender holds 26 tons of coal and 19,00 gallons of water. 2102 pulls 50 empty hopper cars or 19 loaded passenger cars. What is the water and coal consumption per mile while doing so?

2102 definitely consumes more coal and water than the 425, but I'm not too sure how much exactly. 2102 is a powerful steamer, but not like the union pacific big boy. If someone else knows how much coal the 2102 consumes per mile, just comment.
