The path to the actual site has a confusing entrance and it is not maintained. In August there was no flooding and completely dry road to the lake shore. I could see a few birds but I was not able to walk to the shore. There was no one else around. It is a quiet place.

Disappointed. We were hoping to take a walk and enjoy an afternoon of nature and photography. When we arrived the preserve was closed because of high water. This was our first visit, so we thought we would drive down the access road to get an idea of what the preserve was like. Not a good idea. Water was coming over the narrow access road. We ended up backing up until we found a yard that looked firm enough to turn around on without getting stuck. Late July or August might be a better time to visit.

Crazy flooding now! The boardwalks are nearly covered even though they were raised. When you get to the Shoreline , in the picture above there is a pretty large area of dry land that is Rock before you get to the water . that doesn't exist at this moment, as the water level has definitely raised more than the four inches that the papers have claimed! LOL I did not take any pictures, and I'm bummed out about it. When I go back next week I will post some because it is still amazingly flooded. Before you could walk on the Rocks 20 feet out. Now the water is at the edge of the Dunes! My daughter and I walked down there to check out what the damage might be , and the black Pond Inlet is now just a part of Lake Ontario ! I couldn't believe it ! wow

Not sure, it was closed because of high water when we tried to visit a few weeks ago.
