The museum was very interesting, I highly recommend visiting. You can pick up a map at the entrance which shows the mowed trails on the property that are great for walking with kids. There are several shaded picnic tables that would work well for a picnic lunch.

Lots of old unique stuff you can easily spend an hour or two here and then go take a walk on the trail.

This must be the coolest museum I never knew existed. There are so many historical artifacts from not only Dallas county but all over the world. The curator is incredibly knowledgeable about every piece in his collection and very friendly. It's also just a short bike ride off the Raccoon River Valley Trail. I recommend this place for anyone interested in local history or anyone biking by. Great place to check out!
