I've called one location atleast 10 times today and get no answer. Was told that location had open appointments today so I filled out the app online like they told me so I could get in today. A different location called me back and told me the other location is full today. I wouldn't have wasted my time if I knew they would just tell me to wait a week again.

I can’t even begin to stress to ANYONE contemplating doing business here how critical it is to stay far, far away! I was approved over a week ago, uploaded every requested document online (pay stubs, license, registration, insurance, etc) and was told what I was approved for and what my down payment requirement was. Ok- no problem, yes the APR was 20x higher than the vehicle I financed 90 days ago but it was a smaller loan, shorter term, and an older- hard to find vehicle I had set my heart on. I would call the Council Bluffs branch the phone would ring and ring and ring and eventually roll over to an Omaha branch where they were unable to assist me being in a different state but took down my name and number and said they would have Sophia from Council Bluffs call me as soon as possible definitely before the close of business! No returned call so I would follow up and call back the following morning only again to have the phones go to the Omaha branch where I was told Sophia would call me back at her earliest convenience… Four hours later she called me back to let me know that I couldn’t pay my down payment directly to the dealership that I needed to go get a money order and bring it in at the time of funding where they would make a photocopy of it to include with my file and requested I have the dealership send over a revised purchase agreement reflecting the updated numbers which I did… I was so frustrated with the lack of communication and told Sophia I needed to get in to finalize the loan as soon as possible because the dealership was not willing to continue holding the vehicle. She told me she was overwhelmed and working alone and couldn’t get me in until next week! This was Wednesday afternoon and I began this process last weekend! I couldn’t wait until the following week. I asked if I could go to an Omaha branch to finalize where they had more than one employee working and she said yes but they would have to run my credit again and I wasn’t willing to have another hard inquiry when they had just pulled my credit three days ago! I asked for the name of her supervisor and she said she did not have one that she was the branch manager and I said I understand that, but everyone has someone they report to… She then told me to call the one 800 customer service number and I asked to her direct supervisor was and she reluctantly told me her name (Jamie) so I called the council bluffs phone number immediately again knowing that the phones would not be answered in Council Bluffs but rather the Omaha location anyway and asked for Jamie and of course… Unavailable and I would have to wait for her to call me back. In the meantime, Sophia from Council Bluffs returned my call and told me to bring my money order in at 1 PM tomorrow and to go ahead and add the vehicle I was purchasing to my existing insurance policy and list One Main as the lienholder on my binder… As a former Allstate agent I am very familiar with the process so did that immediately! An hour later I receive a call from the Omaha branch… Jamie, the supervisor and I gave her a recap of my experience with Sophia and Council Bluffs and she was very combative and unwilling to apologize for the lack of communication but rather logged into my file looking for a reason to no longer have to deal with me as a customer because I have high standards of how customers should be treated and said well actually it looks like five days ago Sophia never verified your income (which is over $60k) and told me I no longer qualified for a $3400 loan on a 14-year-old vehicle… Even though I had been told multiple times my approval was complete, what my down payment was, to go ahead and get a money order for the down payment, and to add the vehicle to my insurance which I did and paid an entire six months upfront all for Jamie to retract that simply in retaliation because of my complaint! This has hands down been the WORST customer service experience in my entire adult career and life.

I needed a personal loan to take care of a major unexpected plumbing expense. I have good credit, I just recently paid off all of my credit cards and did not want a card balance. I thought this would be a better solution. The owner of the company that I work for personally called and verified my employment with Sofia. I am currently taking two weeks PAID vacation, then starting a new position that actually has a higher salary. Sofia was completely unprofessional and called my current workplace and spoke to whoever answered the phone, even though she had already spoken to the owner of the entire company. When I told her that I was still employed and that I was on PAID vacation she said “it didn’t matter because I wouldn’t be receiving a paycheck from my new job for two weeks”. Doesn’t everyone get paid every two weeks????There will be no gap in my income, just starting at a different place in the same industry with a higher salary. She is extremely rude and unprofessional. The person I started this loan with, I believe his name was Craig was very courteous and professional. Sofia could learn a few manners from him.
