The beach is clean and the sand goes quite a bit into the water. It's great for young kids to swim as it's shallow quite a ways out into the water. The sign says that there is a charge for swimming but when looking at the envelopes to pay, if you are camping at any of the campgrounds it is free. It can get really hot if you do not have some type of canopy. If you're looking for wheelchair access, there is a sidewalk that runs from the parking lot down the center of the beach into the water. There is a water spigot to clean off the sand as you leave.

The water was low when we visited last but, the beach is always clean. They have a playground with the old metal slide, so be sure you have a dry towel for your little one to sit on. You will see people with dogs even though they aren't allowed but rangers do patrol people do get caught. Picnic area, change area and restroom.
