Have always loved taking my furbabies here for vaccines, great friendly staff and super helpful when it comes to any questions I have

Very nice workers, and they took in the kitten I rescued and is in great hands.

My name is Natasha I surrendered my cat AMr.sandman. It was so hard I tried to be strong but I couldn’t. The lady that worked the front desk was so rude. I wanted say good bye and she said it’s best I don’t. I started crying Profusely while signing the paperwork. I couldn’t keep him due to my landlord issues. A simple good bye I’ll never see him again that’s all I wanted. He was my support when my mom died. This lady talked to me so nasty I came at 1700 on 9/17/2022. I didn’t get her name but I wanted to share the cold experience I received when surrendering my best friend. It reminded me of when I had to sign my moms papers for her to die. It was soooooo hard on me I walked out crying saying I will pray for him he deserves a new home. I cried so hard. Just a fyi surrendering a animal is like a person dyeing you have to get used to them being gone. You have to be used to not seeing them. I was told I could call but all I wanted to do was say goodbye. Have more compassion for those who have to surrender their pets.

Waited 4 weeks to hear back from them for a dog i put an application in for. cause she(the dog) still had to do test. 4 weeks pass gets a call to set up a meet n greet for my dog i already have at home. my dog is very vocal, and it takes a few minutes to get use to another dog. we had two others dogs which we did mention and my dog was fine with them. the VOLUNTEERS gave my dog less than a minute before taking the other dog away due to his barking. remind you he wasn’t growling, pulling, just barking, volunteers didn’t use any commands or let me use my commands and told us it’s a no go sorry. waited 4 weeks for a 30 second visit. feel so bad for those dogs. terrible place. terrible experience.

Yeah, I want to know that answer too!

You will have to go in and see or check their website. They get new animals in every day and they get adopted quick. So your best bet is to go in or call every day and check
Go in and see. Maybe, maybe not.
You may take them to Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center 5585 Sabre Road Norfolk. I think they are open til 4pm today to accept stray animals.
Yes you can. Go to the front desk and they can help you though the process
No. This is an animal shelter.
Yes. The SPCA does not accept surrendered animals. It would have to be NACC.
Call them to find out.
Dogs, Cats, Rabbits is all I saw there but maybe there's more, try calling or take a trip there.
Maybe give her a bed all of her own and lots of lovies. Let her know that it's her new home
Its not likely
All volunteers are welcome regardless of their living arrangements.
I doubt if you'll find ferrets. However call and give your number in the off chance they receive any. Otherwise, I'd go to a pet store and just outright purchase them.
Call and ask them.
Either call the shelter or go there.
No. They are closed for adoptions on Mondays only.
I don't know but you can call them and ask
You can check the website www.norfolk.gov/nacc for adoptable animals or call 441-5505. They may have pups in foster who aren't at the shelter.
There were but not sure
Hi. I don't sell puppies and I just adopted a dog from the shelter 2 weeks ago 😄
Yes. They are on the website and change daily.
This facility is an open admission animal shelter & does not provide those services. Try Norfolk SPCA. They have vets on staff.
There is a program going on now for $25 adoption fees through the 23rd.
Yes they do. As of Monday there were several bunnies up for adoption. You can check their website at NACC for a current listing.
My wife has 12 week old kttens thst we are about to take to the Animal Center on Sabre rd. We just can't get anyone to ever answer the phone.
This Ibam unaware of, howeve rtheir v.mail does give direction of needing an animal officer.
No :( It is worth the wait however. They went a visit with all family members and dogs currently in the home. Then, if they need fixed, they will have a surgery day and you will take them home same day while still doped up lol . unless they are already fixed and UTD on shots, maybe? Just go in! Great place!
So am I and wont give up I get my dog for me
There is an adoption fee. $75.00
You may want to sell your dog to a person you know and trust or someone that you have talked to and got to trust be careful about who your selling the dog too
