I went to Herr Funeral Home in Glen Carbon because I wanted to have something inscribed over my name on our family's burial stone where I will be buried someday. I worked with Heather Cook who was absolutely wonderful. What I was looking for was something out of the ordinary. She worked with me and helped me to find just the right emblem/inscription I was looking for. She stayed in contact with me until she found the right emblem and checked with the engravers to make sure they could do this work. She helped me to determine the right size and the perfect location for the emblem on the stone. I was thrilled with what she had done and so pleased with her work and care that she showed in helping me through this process. Three generations of my family members are buried at Sunset Hills Cemetery. I will be buried there, and arranged/pre-paid all of my funeral with Herr. They have been wonderful to work with and Sunset Hills is a beautiful, peaceful place to rest eternally. Thank you Herr Funeral Home for your care, and thank you for having people like Heather there to assist people.

I've had a burial plot for 40 years. My grandparents are in the mausoleum. My grandfather who reported to Presidents and my best friend had my grandmother placed in the mausoleum first. I wanted to be near my grandparents however outside. I purchase a plot 40+ years ago. - I was advised my plot would be on the end. Later found the old sales rep. lied. - A few years ago I called due to heart issues and almost died. I'm in CA now. I obtained a quote on expenses and was going to make payments although I have a life insurance policy. When I called back a year later to start payments than I found that I was severely taken advantage of regarding the pricing. Luckily a girl went over her costs and mentioned the other guy was not there any longer. I can only assume they work on commission. - Just about 5 years ago I had a name change. No one called back after several calls. Finally, a lady said it was taken care of. It was not after checking as I needed a new deed. I asked to speak with a manger and they mentioned one would get back to me. I waited a while. It was so stressful trying to get help that I didn't call back for over a year. Finally I ended up getting a manager who sent a new dead with my new name. My grandfather who reported to POTUS trusted this place. I never thought a cemetery could be so shady. And, it's a cemetery. Dealing with them, by myself, for the last 10 years than I'm scared they'll cheat me after I'm passed. I don't make reviews except good ones. However, over the years thinking about the xxxx I had to go through and the lies I thought best to speak up. People are in turmoil when a death in family. They should not be taken advantage. They really tried to cheat me on pricing. It was 1000's of dollars. I was shocked when I called back when ready to make payments while speaking with a lady who mentioned her pricing for the same exact than I wrote down. I still remember the old sales man voice when I was a young girl about 20 years old buying a plot to be near my grandparents. We walked around the front of the mausoleum outside and he said "this is an end plot you won't be between others." I didn't find out until 30 years later that he lied. I don't want a phone call. This is a notice to people and especially women alone or younger women, to watch your back and verify everything the sales men advise.

I had a good experience. Kristy was very helpful and they let my family stay for awhile after and talk and hangout which was nice !

They range depending on what area of the cemetery as well as whether designed for traditional burial or cremation. Best thing to do is to stop by and speak to a Family Service Counselor for detailed pricing. You can also call and speak with someone.
