Took a load of crawler shoes there..told me I had to put snow chains on my truck to go down some unsafe goat trail to unload. I wouldn't do it because its unsafe. They freaked out. Screw em. Must be a union company used to pushing people around. Minus 10 stars for safety and unprofessional conduct!! After being held hostage here for 5hrs we chained up. 4 hrs later and 2 broke trucks we were unloaded

No... its unfortunately not open at all to the public for safety reasons. But you can get an overall good view of the size of the mine just by cruising around the public roads, and ely itself has done a good job of representing the history of the mines throughout is downtown in a bunch of visitor sites along aultman.
