This was a very fun experience Despite the tourmaline name your are goonna find a large amount of quartz.(still cool) However i did indeed score some awesome pink black and green tourmaline pieces which made me super happy. Overall im very happy with everything I found amd cost vs experience. I will most certainly come back in a few months with more friends. A few tips before you go 1. Wear cloths you can get dirty because you will. Also go for work boots over tennis shoes if you can. 2. If you must use google for directions navigate to Henshaw resort instead. There is a good restaurant, a small store for snacks/water and you can get directions to dig site inside 3.This is secondary mining. You are not gonna go in any cave or anything like that. Its more of a screening process. 4. This is does require some physical labor. Nothing drastic but smaller kids may need help moving stuff 5. Greate for kids who are behaved and follow directions well. 6. To get the most out of your day show up when they open. Bring water, snacks,a hat and wear SPF.

It started as a great day, Denise worked with my son and I when we first arrived. She came by and checked on us. But around 2:30pm things went down hill fast. A party of 3 men and one women arrived at the digging site. One man and woman went over to dig while the other two men took Denise attention one of the man smoking a cigar!! Filling the air with bad smoke and then both men started to smoke cigarettes after cigarette. My son went over by the check in booth to look on the ground for rocks while having a cigarette away from paying customers. The one man with the big earrings started giving my son a hard time about looking for rocks in that area. My son came back to dig with me again and mentioned how rude this man was to him. We paid for our day and now felt like we should leave. I paid 150.00 for a man to give my son a hard time. The same man that thinks second hand smoke should be around paying customers!! If you want family time watch out for the man with the earrings. Other paying customers were leaving. We spoke to the couple next us that said this man was giving them a hard time too! Then this man was telling my son he works here. We saw the men taking one of premade bags of ore and putting through the sifters to get the gems and then went over when Denise had her back turned and took another bag. Denise came over to the men to see the new bag opened She didn’t look happy about it. My son was at the pile of ore getting another bucket when the same man came over and started to give himself hard time again. He came over to me and told me about it again. We had also noticed Denise wasn’t coming over to us anymore. She was too busy entertaining the two men. The man with the earrings start to rinse the dirty bins. I went over to ask to use the water hose. I asked if he was done using the hose. He looked at me and said he wouldn’t be done using the hose until after we were gone today. And then said why do you want to use it? If you say you work for a company why would you be rude to a paying customer!! By the time we left we were annoyed and felt like our money should be refund because of this man’s actions!!! My advice you should reconsider if this man is employed by your company to fire him immediately. I traveled from New Hampshire to check out your mine and a bad word goes a long way!!

For $75 you can “dig” only between 10am and 3pm. If you arrive later than 10am, e.g., you arrive at 11am or 12pm, you still have to pay the full $75! Even if you show up and there’s only an hour left to the current “dig” you have to pay the full $75!! They don’t do any deals or discounts... It’s kind of disappointing...
75 for adult and i think for children 20 snd toddler free
