After catching my hand in a door I went to AFC for an x-ray on my hand. I later went to my physician who wanted to review the x-rays and was told AFC doesn't have the capability to download x-rays just a written report. Never heard of this. Now I have to have another x-ray.

One of the worst walk-in clinics in Southington if not Connecticut. I have unfortunately used AFC a few times, once for a sliced fingertip that they said I didn't need antibiotics for and then it got infected. This most recent time I went for a high fever umong other symptoms. I though it was possibly the flu and was 100% it wasn't covid. Got rapid test for both and neg then got PCR test for both and not 24 hrs, not 48, or 72 but 96 hours later I finally got the results which were negative. (Originally visited on a Wednesday for time frame reference). The PA was convinced it was covid and not the flu or something else because the flu 'wasn't in the area yet'. Either way my symptoms got worse and worse and I ended up in the ER with a fever of 103+ and they finally were able to help gets things under control. I will NEVER go back to AFC and will never send ANYONE to them for any sort of care. Stay away and go to Hartford Healthcare Walk in down the road.

I’m on vacation and am having symptoms consistent with with sinusitis, with a fever and headache being particularly bothersome. Since I want to enjoy my vacation I went to this Urgent Care to see a doctor. This was the least useful medical visit ever. The “doctor” only performed a cursory examination and skipped most of the standard diagnostic steps for sinusitis, such as checking for swollen glands in the head and neck, looking for sinus inflammation, checking for sinus pressure, etc. He then “prescribed” the very same over the counter medication I would have taken had I skipped the visit entirely. A further irritation was a brief discussion about COVID-19 testing, when I mentioned that the COVID-19 tests do have a non-negligible false positive and false negative rate, at which he scoffed. When I mentioned I am a PhD Biostatistician who has worked in medical research for 25 years, he dismissed the comment with a cavalier wave, suggesting he is ignorant of both what a biostatistician does and of the truth that all medical tests have a certain error rate. Avoid this quack in a box.

We received great care from the southington velocity. The providers took care of us quickly, answered our questions, accurately assessed the issue and treated us approximately. We received a follow up call from the provider as well which I appreciated. I will visit velocity again when needed.

Yes we do COVID testing. Please sign in for a telemed evaluation at www.velocityurgentcare.com Then click on banner at top for telemed and follow prompts. We do cap so the earlier in the day you sign in the better chance you have of getting it. Please do not sign in the day before you want the test as all of those charts are thrown out at the end of the day.
