We loved it and we’re not frequent hikers. Definitely a moderate trail but well worth the hike. Beware of poison ivy as there’s a lot of it along the trails the whole way. The kids loved the water - it was cold! You can see trout swimming in pools along the way. Beautiful scenery.

To reach the bath tub area you will have to walk in the stream so prepare accordingly. if you have any leg ailments or injuries, not the most nimble you will need to take a pass on this one. My 4 year made it but any younger would be a challenge.

What a beautiful day for a hike. Go potty before you get there! The hike is a little bit treacherous so wear decent shoes. Aqua shoes are also a great option as you can just hike the whole way in the stream if you want. It is a constant up and down and back and forth across the stream but it's not too crazy. There were people of all ages and capabilities out there. I think it probably took us about 90 min to go in and back. I suggest bringing water. At the end are 3 little waterfalls that you can slide down, but the water isn't deeper than 3 foot. The terrain changes throughout the hike.

Adventurous and memorable hike! You and your shoes will get wet so keep that in mind when planning. We have elementary-high school aged kids and they all had a blast. Go at your own pace and watch the trail, it's rocky! Don't stop until you get to the natural waterslide, it's worth the hike up.

Questions & Answers

Does the trail head parking lot accommodate rv's?

I would say it depends on how busy it is there. I was there a few weeks ago on a saturday and it was packed, it would have been very hard. But if your less than say 35 feet total, you may be able to fit in. Some people parked parallel to the highway on the west side of the lot. That would work for big rigs on non-busy days.
