The tour was great! Bill was a great tour guide! He was super personable, clearly an expert on mining, and made the tour enjoyable. My wife and I even plan to read his wife’s book to get some more of the region’s history. The mine itself is quite simple but Bill makes it come to life so even the normal person can see the intricacies of how the mine supplied huge amounts of gold and silver to the region and what the daily life of the miners who worked there was like. If you’re into learning something new that you can’t really get many other places; this is for you.

Guide was excellent. Walk a level but uneven path that follows an old rail into the mine. Ceiling height lowers but is negotiable. A very interesting, once active mine.
