My 17 year old son attend Meridell for 3 months. Prior to going he had extreme anxiety, poor self-esteem and had stopped going to school. We had recently moved to another state and my son was deteriorating before my eyes. I had heard about Meridell from a friend. Her daughter had also spent 3 months there and came back a different version of her former self. After hearing about her daughter’s progress, my husband and I realized that my son truly needed an in/treatment facility. It was the best decision we could have made. Meridell is structured, rigorous and teaches the young men the true meaning of accountability. The positive peer culture definitely allowed my son to take a long, hard look in the mirror. He thrived from his individual sessions with Taylor Bryant and Dr. Reitel. He revered both men and was in awe of their intelligence and ability to help him slowly rebuild his broken character. This was obviously a slow and painful journey. I looked forward to our family phone sessions with Taylor and witnessed my son’s triumphs and failures. We also became cognizant if the changes and compromises we had to work on as a family. I have given a 5-star rating due to the constant communication of the entire staff, the true dedication exemplified by every member of the La Casa Unit and for the sincere impact my son’s stay at Meridell had on his mental health and ability to change for the better. When my son first came home, we were blown away by the self-assured, logical, reflective, hard working young man that returned home. He was able to articulate his feelings and concerns clearly and concisely. He had a very detailed dismissal plan which we utilized to the best if our ability. My son has been home for 4 months. It's still a slippery slipe. We cannot provide the rigor, structure & valuable therapy entrenched in Meridell’s successful program. He's now 18 and has all the tools he needs to succeed. My son will either rise to the occasion during his Senior year in Bigh School or fall on his face. The decision will be his. Overall, we are forever indebted for the major positive changes my son achieved as a result of Meridell Achievement Center.

My son just recently finished his stay at Meridell Achievement Center in the La Casa house. Sadly, he had to go two different times. His behavior and attitude is 180 degrees out from the challenges we had faced before going to RTC. We finally have the kind, thoughtful, bright teenage son we remember. They equipped him with skills to calm his anxiety, communicate, and confidently speak out appropriately. My heart goes out to anyone with a challenging teen. My wife and I were on the verge of divorce and a challenging teen almost took us over the cliff. We found it is also complementary to seek (co-parenting) therapy to help understand the dynamics. I can truly say Meridell Achievement Center has helped us re-build our family. For that, I am forever grateful to the amazing and professional staff. Two shout outs to Calvin the OG, and Taylor! Thank you for assisting my son as he becomes a man accountable for his decisions!

Horrible. They manipulate parents and abuse the children. They play the parents against the children and the abuse I sustained there lives with me to this day over a decade later. They misdiagnosed me with epilepsy purposely for an experiment they had with a local college for the drug trileptal. 5 years of ekg tests and having my licence revoked I didn’t have one epileptic seizure. They ruined my record, labeling me as “developmentally disabled” in order to include me as a participant on said study. I still have not been able to get that expunged as they haven’t responded to my request of medical records, and may never have a normal life/job because of them. I wish there was an option for zero stars and even then that would be generous.

You will have to call their admissions office. While we were waiting for our son's medical records to get sent over there, the spot we were hoping for got filled. So we ended up waiting almost 3 months instead of just a few weeks. We had to check him in for an acute care stay to a hospital in town during the wait but we made it through the wait. And it was DEFINITELY worth the wait. Meridell saved our son and our family! Call and talk to their admissions!!!! They are all awesome and will do everything they can to get you helped as soon as possible!
Aetna yes. That is one of the main insurance companies they work with.
I was placed here in 1989 as a young teen of 14. I had quite a few problems, but this place really helped me. I was there for a year and 3 weeks. Got to go home for one weekend a month. Dr. Weiner was there back then and was a great doctor.
