Tried to start service at a new apartment today. Was on hold for over 45 mins then got transfered to someone else to "verify" my information and the girl was trying to sell me stuff the whole time ??? I finally politely told her I was only interested in getting my power turned on and didn't want to keep declining her sales pitch. (We've been driving cross country for 5 days and I had a screaming one year old in the back seat) she quickly told me she would just put me on hold but then left me on hold for another 30 minutes???? I finally hung up because I'm not listening to hold music for her to verify my info. They should do that without making people wait. It was just ridiculous. I called to get power turned on not to be sold to.

BUYER BE WARNED!!! Duke Energy turn me over to collections for a PAID BILL, I paid the collection agency immediately, but I remembered paying the bill!! When I produced the paid receipt and showed the bill was paid and asked them to correct the mistake I was told, “you will need to call the collection agency and get it worked out.” All I can say is keep all your receipt and keep good records because DUKE ENERGY will expect you to clean up their mistakes!

Worse company ever..you have to want hours to power but dont pay your big and they will turn your power off. I hate duke energy...wish they had some competition out here like the cable companies.

Call duke repeatedly and make an order, they will send someone out to check it if you bug them enough.
Call them, you can pay over the phone or go to the Duke energy office and the address is listed on google maps
You know your not supposed to drive over the wood right? and sending a receipt wouldnt do anything. Even if you get money for your tires you still have to pay them for the power so you'll lose the money you get back anyways. So its a lose lose situation. Try burning the wood or hauling it off.
They have a front office where you can pay
their options as your calling, but hard to get someone on the phone. you will be waiting for awhile. the online portal should you let you pay with no problem unless its an internet connection problem
