If a public PRETENDER tells you to take a deal it's because they are buho buddies with the A.D.A's DONT ACCEPT DEALS IF YOUR NOT GUILTY. ask them if they wanna be complacent FOREVER or if they wanna make a difference. then tell them to go defend you and not pretend to. when I was a minor they convinced me if I take a misdemeanor "it won't matter." it didn't matter but it felt like a cop out because I was defending myself from an adult man who isn't my father. I knew I wasn't wrong and they couldn't prove I was... GO TO TRIAL. D- for the judicial system

Pleasant environment. Security is very helpful. The cafeteria is clean, may get busy at times. COVID practices are observed. You may want to bring a mask or a CDC Covid vaccination card for entry. Standard screening procedures are applied daily. Law library is full of legal information.

What kind of a case is it. If it's not a criminal case checking web crims isnt going to help. There is more than one clerk's office. Riverhead and C.I. I think mentioning the nature of the case will go a long way

In criminal Court, a case must be filed to get an order of protection. Usually that starts with an arrest or the issuance of a summons by the police department. So start with the police, tell them you want to get an order of protection. Once the case is filed, you can go in front of a judge and request an order of protection.

Most orders that are pending during the prosecution of a criminal case will not be vacated. Sometimes if your lawyer makes a good argument the judge can modify the order to allow incidental contact with the person. (If you lived in the same apartment building for example, or attempted the same school, had a court case in a different court with the person, etc) When you take a plea, sometimes a limited order is offered rather than a full order, which allows contact with the person. If its a top issued related to family court you should contact your attorney.
You have to contact the court reporter that was working when your case was heard and order the minutes. They are not free. You have to pay per page.
