I’m currently serving in the United States Air Force, so I parked my car in front of a friends house. I don’t speak to any relatives I have in Sayreville, and my car was unregistered with a tarp over it. I was ticketed for “car abandonment” and issued a court date, which is completely understandable. I’m only 18, not the richest and it wouldn’t make sense to pay full insurance on a car I couldn’t drive at that time, so I just kept natural disaster insurance on the car and everything else was turned in. I was hoping to be able to leave my car there for a few months before I could get it to my new duty station, but it’s okay just a bump in the road, right? However, when I called to explain to them that I couldn’t appear to the court date I was given so much attitude, nobody wanted to help me and when I explain to them my situation they didn’t wanna hear it. I got a lawyer, and I knew he was going to reschedule the court date, so I called up to find out my new one, and instead of actually listening to what I needed the woman behind the phone automatically assumed that I was asking her why court wasn’t open the day prior. Maybe actually listen to what I’m saying before automatically giving attitude? She also wasn’t willing to reschedule a date for me considering I can’t even be home right now, which in itself shows how lazy and rude the front desk workers here really are.

Cheif Wiggims said I best. Powerless to help you, not to prosecute you.

No.
They are supposed to send u a new notice if not youll have to go down there yourself because they're horrible with the calling and will put a warrant out for your arrest before calling u back
you'd have to call the court or physically go there, going there would be your best bet because they're extremely unorganized & dont answer calls or call back
