Consider this trip a time travel, a 70’s throwback, a DIY reality show, everything but your life in the city. If you like to fix things in your garage, or if you like nature, and you don’t mind handcrafted old things that still work, this is a must see. If you bring kids along, they would spend quality time with you because there is no phone signal or WiFi. This is a unique place, and it is impossible to compare it with any popular campground. The guardian of this mountain and campground is a Korean War veteran, an incorruptible soul.

I had a great time at the campground. It's doesn't have tons of campsites(a good thing). It's more of a place to enjoy the nature and the quiet (if the Bad Neighbors are not making tons of noise from drinking to much for a few hours). This place does not draw the drinking crowd. It is great for families and groups of quiet friends. The owner and caretaker are extremely friendly. The caretaker helped us light a fire the first night there. The property is Off the Grid and if you're lucky you may get a tour of their hydropower facility. The place is very well kept and the little cabins are very cute. I changed my phone in one but should have left it in the car. We had a rainy day and night so my friends all got invited to watch a movie in the barn (Rec Center with table tennis, shuffleboard, chess and a few more games) It was very nice to have a wood fired sauna at the campground next to the pond. We plan to come back as a group and I might bring other friend between to introduce them to this awesome place.

Privacy Campground is truly a unique gem in the Berkshires. Nestled on the lower western slope of Brodie Mountain in Hancock, MA, it offers a rewarding camping experience for families with or without children, groups, or couples just wanting a getaway. Sites are isolated by trees, thus the appropriateness of "Privacy." Campground founder Andre Rambaud is an absolute genius in his ability to meld his creative & engineering skills into the natural landscape. Among other things, he's carved hiking trails on the mountainside, including to the top. We camped every summer with our boys for decades, never wanting to go anywhere else for vacation. Andre continues to add new features for the benefit of campers (note the new rec room in photos). Privacy also offers great proximity to all the culture that the Berkshires has to offer: Tanglewood, Barrington Stage, Mass MoCA, Jacob's Pillow, etc.

They do have check in and check out times, i don't remember but they are kind of standard. Likely they could be flexible. I paid by check in the mail. They might not take credit cards. Phone them for answers. It's a very quiet place and i loved it.
20$ a night for a tent site
