Passing through I saw Shelby has the home of Earl Scruggs. A mecca for a banjoist. Set in a former county courthouse a quaint museum about Earl mixed with other histories of Shelby, NC.

We do not have concessions inside the museum. In our gift shop, we do offer a selection of soft drinks and water.
The Earl Scruggs Center has reopened and cares deeply about the well-being of our visitors, volunteers and staff. In the interest of safety and to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 in our community, the museum will operate at 50% capacity as well as implementing the following safety measures: - Set flow of galleries. - Masks are required for all employees, volunteers, and visitors. - Exhibits will be disinfected after each visit with some areas closed. - Hand sanitizing stations located throughout the facility. - If staff, volunteer, or visitor feel ill, we ask that you stay home. We apologize for any inconvenience, but believe that this is the best decision for all involved.
