Just wanted to make a remark about work done at my resident. The 2 men that removed and installed new patio doors were very professional and did a absolutely beautiful job . Work was done at 7700 east 13th st north unit 108 wichita ks. Hope you give these 2 men a pat on the back they were absolutely great employees for your company. This customer is sold on Mid America Exteriors. Thank you again Ken Foley

I called for a quote and got one. When I went to follow up with them to schedule an install I received no contact back whatsoever. I left messages and nothing. Maybe they do good work, but they definitely aren't good at getting back to people and in todays world that's bad for business in my book.

MAE installed 3 windows for us. The quote was by far the best quote we received. MAE was professional, provided quality work, on time and cleaned up when they were finished. We also had gutter guards installed which are working exactly as promised. 5 STARS!

Have you ever gotten the feeling that customer service as we used to know it has gone extinct, and the customer is treated more as some sort of inconvenience? I have. Then you work with companies like MAE and have to change your tune, at least for awhile. I’ve never had any major home repairs through contractors and was somewhat clueless on several minor details, leading to endless questions from early morning to late evening for a week on my siding repairs. Responsiveness is an understatement. Fair, straightforward, knew what needed to be done without aggressively trying to oversell what didn’t and most recently did not want to be called out individually in a customer’s review because a successful job is a team effort. Not surprising from this type of work ethic. After inspecting my house, I had an initial estimate the following morning. And worth mentioning that I’d requested three contractor estimates on the same day. The other two followed up with me to schedule a visit a week after I had signed with MAE. Overall team effort: very satisfied. Sales: still can’t believe this happened in 2022. Thanks, everyone! Get in, get out, get it done, make a profit, gain a new loyal customer.

Yes, if all openings are protected. Typically to qualify for wind mitigation discounts, all openings must have HVHZ protection.
You may qualify for tax credits if they are available. You will need to contact your accountant to discuss if your eligible for any credits.
It is the Notice Of Acceptance (NOA) issued by the Miami-Dade County that certifies a product as impact resistant. This product approval also provides a label for the product that designates how long the certification will last. The NOA also provides information on dimensions, parts, materials, accessories, and installation guidelines for a product. You can download a copy of the NOA from the Miami-DadeCounty website. Impact resistant products also come with a sticker adhered to in window or door frame with the product approval information on it. It is important to remember not to remove these stickers because they are useful to identify your products and to qualify for insurance discounts.
Hurricane impact products do not require shuttering. this saves you money, labor and precious time when a severe storm is approaching. by having a turnkey solution, hurricane impact windows and doors give you peace of mind whether you are at home or away when the big storm comes. It also safeguards your home against burglary and theft, noise reduction and ultraviolet rays from the sun. In addition, many insurance companies offer discounts on homeowner insurance when you install code-approved hurricane resistant impact windows and doors in your home.
Absolutely. Impact windows and doors can provide a substantial noise reduction. Impact windows and doors are an ideal solution if you have concerns about noise pollution around your property like traffic, loud neighbors, schools/ parks.
These windows are made with impact glass consisting of a strong, laminated interlayer bonded between two panes of annealed, heat-strengthened, or tempered glass. When struck by a forceful object the glass resists shattering. When impact glass is struck, it may chack, but stays together as one piece to prevent water from intruding into the home. Several elements make a window or door impact rated, such as frame and sashes engineering, the type of impact glass used, the quality of weather stripping, and type of low emission coating on the impact glass. non-impact windows are not energy efficient because they provide little insulation. You can lower your utility bill by installing impact-resistant products. adding the low-e option on impact windows and doors can further improve energy efficiency by drastically reducing the transfer of heat in and out of the home.
Installing Hurricane impact products ensures that your property’s openings are up to date as per the Florida building code. These codes are mandated to ensure that new homes being built and those being remodeled have the best and safest building products available. When you choose to install your hurricane-resistant impact windows and doors you can be certain that the products you purchase meet and exceed the Florida Building Codes. Our impact resistant products ensure that your home is properly protected 365 days of the year, no matter the weather.
Always ask your contractor for a projected timeline of the project. Depending on the needs of your project you could be waiting for permits, or inspection to occur. In other cases, you could be waiting for fabrication to happen, such as building custom cabinets.
Hurricane impact windows are windows that have been engineered, tested, and manufactured to withstand a hurricane. impact windows are tested to withstand winds from to 210 to 390 miles per hour and flying debris damaged caused by hurricanes wind. These are windows and doors that combine heavy-duty frames with impact-resistant laminated glass. The laminated glass is built with a PVB interlayer, sealed between two layers of glass, which allows for strong binding, optical clarity, and tough adhesion.
Always check with your local building department or contractor for the best answer. In most communities, an architect isn't required, however, some urban areas will require an architect or engineer to sign off on your plans.
On the east coast, hurricane season is from June 1 through November 30th. In the Atlantic, hurricanes generally occur in August, September, and October.
Usually, you will require a permit if you are changing the structure of the home. This includes remodels like altering the roofline, adding a sunroom, or putting in an indoor fireplace. Remodels that focus on aesthetics, such as putting in new flooring or new fixtures like a bathtub, that don't alter the overall structure of the house typically don’t require a permit, but always double-check with your contractor.
The best way to approach this question is to consider the average rent in the area of the property, the potential tenants that would rent your property, i.e. college students vs a young family, and the overall aesthetic and functionality of the property. As an owner, you want to make sure you don't overprice your prospective tenants out of your property by adding unnecessary or expensive remodels.
Most home renovations will follow a similar workflow. Generally speaking, demolition comes first which includes stripping out and removal of old appliances, walls, flooring, and fixtures. Next comes structural work which includes sub-floors, foundation work, framing, adding drywall to ceilings/walls and basic plumbing/wiring is then installed. Windows and doors could be added at this point as well. Next up comes plastering and flooring installation. Plumbing, heating, wiring, and lighting are all then finished. The final steps are the bathroom and kitchen fit-out, which can include the installation of lights, sinks, cabinets, and backsplashes.
