We had a great time at Muddy Paws. A wonderful guide provided details about the dogs and their personalities.

I had a blast yesterday! If you love dogs and the winters here in New England, I highly recommend taking a ride. The dogs were pawsome and the mushers great too! Shout out to my Musher Garett!

This place is fantastic!! We got this as a Christmas present for my son, and I honestly had sticker shock at the price initially. But I was 100% converted once we had our outing. The mushers and yard assistant are very friendly and went out of their way to make the experience personalized for each guest. They let us wander the dog yard and get acquainted with the 60 dogs. They then took my 11 y/o and showed him the different parts of the sled, lines and harnesses, and then let him harness the dogs and hook them to the sled (with supervision of course!!). Our musher was Joe, and he kept us entertained with local stories and details about the Company and future plans. He really enjoys what he is doing and it shows. The actual ride was fun as an out-and-back, with a turnaround that goes up onto a hillside with a great view of Mount Jefferson and an exciting downhill back to the main trail. If you like dogs, this is must-do experience.

What's the cost for dog sledding?

juliana Hibbert | Apr 28, 2020
zachary gaboriault | Apr 29, 2020

https://dogslednh.com/ (in case you wanted to look for more info) Website states: $350 per standard sled (2 guests/340lbs maximum) $375 per standard sled with a 3rd rider (3 guests/340lbs maximum). Please note that this option is geared towards 2 adults and a child or 1 adult and 2 children. While 3 adults may meet the weight limit, leg room may be tight (there is approximately 6 feet of “sitting area” and guests sit in between each other’s legs). $375 per standard sled using an extended team (2 guests/400lbs maximum, no 3rd rider option)   There is an additional $75 up-charge for departures scheduled during holidays and vacation weeks.

Is the winter price worth the experience ?

zachary gaboriault | Apr 29, 2020

If you are afraid it will be too cold, they do have additional heavy-duty clothing that they will let you take for the ride at no additional cost. In my opinion, it is better to go during the winter to get the full experience. It is very peaceful and quiet during the ride.

What are we looking at for prices. Been wanting to do this for a lo g time

What biscuits do the dogs like best?

Susan Temple | Apr 29, 2018
Erin Androw | Apr 30, 2018

I brought a large box of traditional Milkbone biscuits. It's important to reward the team after your ride. They certainly deserve it. It was a good idea to have the large box because after you treat the team you went with ALL the other dogs are watching and it's nice to share with them. They all work so hard and are such good dogs.
